Apparatus For Drilling Holes Inside Surface Of Pressure Vessel At The Intersection Area Of Nozzle

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for drilling holes in inside surface of a pressure vessel at the intersection area of nozzle. The apparatus comprises of a bottom plate with circular shape which is welded to extension stem. The locator having outside profile matching with the inside profile of nozzle seats inside the nozzle area. The jig arm rotates over the locator with nozzle axis as center. The jig arm can be locked in respective position with the help of locking pin with the help of locking holes available at jig arm and locator and thus ensures position of the hole to be drilled. This also eliminates any error due to manual method of location. The locator and jig arm design can be modified to accommodate drilling at different angle and other positions also.
