Abstract: The present invention provides an arrangement and method for manufacturing a magnet holding unit, magnet shoe (5), for obtaining accurate fitting of the same with magnet therewithin with the aid of one or more magnetic bolt (6) and flux barrier (7) in a rotor of dynamoelectric machine. The magnet shoe (5) is inserted within first set of grooves (23) upon a base plate (20) and is clamped with the aid of clamping units (25, 25A). The base plate (20) is fitted within another set of grooves (13) with the aid of extruded locking means (21) locked upon a machine table (12). The fitting of magnet within the magnet shoe (5) is performed with the machine operation of drilling and chamfering of holes for accommodating the magnetic bolts (6) and flux barrier (7) in the same unit (5) and on the same machine table (12). The proposed invention prevents movement of jobs (6, 7) during machining by rigidly holding the magnet shoe (5) on the base plate (20) and secures the magnet with uniform air gap around it rigidly within the magnet shoe (5) preventing displacement due to centrifugal force during electrodynamic machine operation.
