DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mobile crane. More particularly, the present invention relates to an articulated pick and carry crane.
BACKGROUND
[001] A mobile crane, as the name suggests is an all-wheel drive crane that can travel on both highways and gravel roads to get the crane into position for the lift. With the new engineering advancements in crane set up, these cranes are now ideal for lifting and moving loads on remote job site locations.
[002] Mobile cranes are primarily designed to be used on firm, flat, level ground. For each crane, rated capacity manuals are produced that provide load chart tables defining the capacity of the crane when in a particular configuration.
[003] A pick and carry crane is similar to a mobile crane that is able to move with a load suspended to a boom. Pick and carry cranes are also able to drive on public roads at highway speeds. The design of pick and carry cranes varies depending on the application of such crane.
[004] An articulated pick and carry crane is a crane whose boom consists of a pin connected structural members to extend or retract loads using power from hydraulic cylinders. This allows an operator to gain access to work areas over obstacles and barriers. Therefore, such cranes are perfect for tight access and hard-to-reach areas.
[005] A Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) are also used when a construction worker or operator has to perform a work on an elevated position or a height.
[006] AWP and MEWP thus, provide temporary access for people or operators to reach inaccessible areas, usually at a certain height. However, the main drawback of such AWP or MEWP is that it lifts and carries people and/or small equipment along with the operator, but not heavy load.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[007] Objects of the present invention involve overcoming the above-mentioned problem associated with the existing AWP/MEWP systems and cranes.
[008] Primary object of the present invention is to provide an articulated pick and carry crane that lifts and carries heavy load along with operators to desired heights, while ensuring highest standard of safety.
[009] Another object of the present invention is to provide an articulated pick and carry crane having an improved operational workability while lifting people and load at desired height.
[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide an articulated pick and carry crane that carries people and heavy load in any direction or location at any height.
[0011] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an articulated pick and carry crane that is simple in design and cost effective in construction.
[0012] As per another object, the articulated pick and carry crane of the present invention provides greater versatility to send people and load up over obstacles to inaccessible working areas.
[0013] Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description, wherein, the aspects of the present invention are disclosed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0014] The present invention discloses an articulated pick and carry crane comprising an articulated and tiltable jib, rotatable basket, and hooks to lift and carry people and heavy weight or load at desired height and location. The articulated pick and carry crane as per the present invention also comprises control valves, hydraulic cylinders, compensation cylinders, jib cylinders, slew drives, and jib so as to achieve the objects of present invention.
