Description:ARTIFICIAL INTELLIEGNCE BASED QUESTIONNAIRE TO DETERMINE PSYCHOLOGICAL DISABILITY
Field of the Invention
[0001] The present invention relates generally to psychological disability evaluation and management, more particularly to a system and method to identify a psychological disability of a person.
Background
[0002] The background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] The cost to society of psychological incapacity is significant. The analysis of professional literature revealed dramatic growth in claims for psychiatric disability during the previous two decades. In an unfortunate attempt to avoid or reduce business, medical, and mental health costs, the majority of firms, medical, and mental health experts either are not aware of the effects of psychological difficulties in the workplace and personal life, or they prefer to ignore them. Both of these approaches result in inefficient psychological claim evaluation and management as well as elevated business, healthcare, and mental health expenses.
[0004] Traditional methods of diagnosing psychological disorders typically involve a comprehensive clinical interview, which can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. Additionally, patients may not feel comfortable discussing their symptoms openly, which can lead to misdiagnosis or underdiagnosis of conditions. However, with advances in AI technology, there is an opportunity to develop more efficient and accurate ways to assess psychological disorders.
[0005] One area where AI shows great promise is in the development of questionnaires that use natural language processing (NLP) to assess patients' symptoms. NLP is a branch of AI that focuses on the interaction between computers and humans using natural language. NLP algorithms can be trained to recognize patterns in language use that are indicative of specific psychological disorders. By analyzing patient responses to specific questions, an AI-based questionnaire can provide a more accurate diagnosis of psychological disorders.
[0006] AI-based questionnaires have several advantages over traditional diagnostic methods. First, they can be administered remotely, making them more accessible to patients who may have difficulty traveling to a clinic. Second, they can be administered quickly, allowing healthcare providers to diagnose and treat patients more efficiently. Finally, AI-based questionnaires can reduce the stigma associated with seeking help for mental health problems, as patients can complete the questionnaire in the privacy of their own homes.
[0007] Various technological solutions (e.g., detection of disease conditions and comorbidities, device for determining and monitoring neurological or muscle disorder, and method for determining motor impairment, etc.) are disclosed in patent literature. Few of the exemplary documents are discussed below.
[0008] US20210106288A1 (By: HOWARD NEWTON) discloses new computational approach may provide improved detection of disease conditions and comorbidities, such as PTSD, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, depression, etc. For example, in an embodiment, a computer-implemented method for detecting a disease condition may comprise receiving a plurality of data streams, each data stream representing a measurement of a brain activity comprising physical and chemical phenomena and performing pattern analysis on the plurality of data streams to detect at least one fundamental code unit of a brain code corresponding to a disease condition based on a combination of the plurality of data streams.
[0009] JP2021121323A (By: DAVID BURTON) provides a device for determining and monitoring neurological or muscle disorder, the device comprises: a sensor for acquiring an electromyogram (EMG) signal of a subject, the EMG signal being used for determining a rem stage of sleep, EMG signal being used for determining presence of atony, the EMG signal being used for determining presence of rem sleep behavior disorder (RBD), the sensor being used for acquiring a signal for measuring or monitoring walking of the subject.
[00010] EP2007277A2 (By: MIROW SUSAN) discloses method, apparatus and software for diagnosing the state or condition of a human which always generates physiological modulated signals having temporal-spatial organization, the organization having dynamic patterns whose structure is fractal, involving the monitoring of at least on physiological modulated signal and obtaining a set of temporal- spatial values of each of said physiological modulated signals, and processing the respective temporal-spatial values using linear and nonlinear tools to determine the linear and nonlinear characteristics established for known criteria to determine the state or condition of the person.
[00011] US9427185B2 (By: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING) directed towards monitoring user behavior on a computerized device for any deviation from normal or acceptable behavior that is likely to affect the user's mental state. A prediction model corresponding to features of one or more mental states may be compared with features based upon current user behavior. If the user's current behavior presents a mental state indicative of an uncharacteristic deviation from the normal or acceptable behavior, descriptive data associated with that mental state may be presented to the user in addition to a trusted individual, such as a health care professional.
[00012] However, the technological solutions for determination of mental state suffers from various limitations such as, high-error rates, etc. Therefore, more advancement in this field of technology is required. More specifically, to a system and method to identify a psychological disability of a person.
