The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to enclosures. More particularly the invention relates to assembling mechanism for enclosures.
Background of the Invention
Manufacturing of cabinets or enclosures have seen drastic improvement over the years. Enclosures used in different fields have certain specific requirements. However the ease of assembling an enclosure and its elements is a generic and most basic requirement for any enclosure. In order to be more competitive manufacturers are making enclosures such as computer enclosures more compact and with detachable parts for greater access for installation and maintenance of components within the enclosure. A conventional computer enclosure includes a chassis a front bezel and a cover all of which are separate parts. In assembly the front bezel and the cover are directly secured to the chassis with screws.
The prior art assemblies have rear covers and Enclosure covers assembled in a manner that it use to hit the components inside and also it is difficult to align the mounting holes. Further it is difficult to remove the rear covers mounted on the enclosure covers as while removal the enclosures are susceptible to damage due to use of External tool like screw driver or squeezer for removal. Also it may lead to EMI leakage.
In view of the above mentioned problems it is required to formulate an improved assembling mechanism for enclosures.
Summary of the Invention
Accordingly the present invention provides an assembling mechanism for cabinet/enclosure the mechanism comprising: a rear cover having atleast one protruded portion; and an enclosure/cabinet cover having atleast one notch; wherein the protruded portion of the rear cover is assembled with the notch such that the notch acts as a stopper for the rear cover.
Brief description of the drawings
Reference will be made to embodiments of the invention examples of which may be illustrated in the accompanying figures. These figures are intended to be illustrative not limiting. Although the invention is generally described in the context of these embodiments it should be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to these particular embodiments.
Fig. 1a shows an assembling mechanism for an enclosure in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 1b shows an enclosure with the assembling mechanism in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
Brief description of the Invention
The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings is provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of exemplary embodiments of the invention as defined by the claims and their equivalents. It includes various specific details to assist in that understanding but these are to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. In addition descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.
The terms and words used in the following description and claims are not limited to the bibliographical meanings but are merely used by the inventor to enable a clear and consistent understanding of the invention. Accordingly it should be apparent to those skilled in the art that the following description of exemplary embodiments of the present invention are provided for illustration purpose only and not for the purpose of limiting the invention as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
It is to be understood that the singular forms “a ” “an ” and “the” include plural referents unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.
Various embodiments of the present invention provides an assembling mechanism for enclosures comprising An assembling mechanism for cabinet/enclosure the mechanism comprising: a rear cover having atleast one protruded portion; and an enclosure/cabinet cover having atleast one notch; wherein the protruded portion of the rear cover is assembled with the notch such that the notch acts as a stopper for the rear cover.
Fig. 1a shows an assembling mechanism 100 for enclosure 100a in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. Assembling mechanism 100 includes a rear cover 110 having a protruded portion 112 and an enclosure cover 120 having a notch 122 as shown in Figs. 1a and 1b.
In an embodiment of the invention the rear cover 110 is assembled to the enclosure 100a in a manner to provide space 130 for easy removal of the rear cover 110 as shown in Fig 1a.
In an embodiment of the invention length 112a of the protruded portion 112 is superior to the length 122a of the notch 122 thereby allowing the notch 122 to act as a stopper.
In an embodiment the rear cover 110 is mounted to the enclosure cover 120 by screwing the rear cover 110 at mounting holes provided at the enclosure cover 120 as shown in Fig. 1b.
It shall be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the assembling mechanism of the present invention can be applied to a chassis or any other main equipment by any means within the scope of the invention. The use of enclosure cover and rear cover is by way of example and not to limit the scope of the present invention.
In an embodiment the protruded portion 112 is preferably a U-shaped protrusion as shown in Fig. 1a.
However it shall be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the Shape of the protruded portion need not be limited to a U-shaped and it may even be a lancing or a half sheer protrusion. The U-shaped protrusion shown in Fig 1a is by way of example.
In an embodiment height 112b of the protruded portion 112 is sufficient to create the space 130 for easy removal of the rear cover 110.
In an embodiment the assembling mechanism 100 including protruded portion 112 of the rear cover 110 and notch 122 of the enclosure cover is shown in Fig. 1a and 1b. The length 112a of the protruded portion 112 is superior to the length 122a of the notch 122. The notch 122 acts as a stopper which stops the protruded portion 112 from completely inserting into the notch 122 for locking. The height 112b of the protruded portion 112 enables creation of the space 130 which provides easy means for removing the rear cover 110 from the enclosure 100 whenever desired.
In an embodiment the enclosure is having the rear cover 110 assembled on the enclosure cover 120 as shown in Fig. 1b.
In an advantageous aspect the assembling mechanism of the present invention enables removal and mounting of the rear cover without damaging the mother board and auto locating the mounting holes to fasten the screws. Further the removal of the rear cover is easy as it doesn’t require any external tool or handle.
While the foregoing is directed to embodiments of the present invention other and further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof and the scope thereof is determined by the claims that follow.
We Claim
1. An assembling mechanism for cabinet/enclosure the mechanism comprising:
a rear cover having atleast one protruded portion; and
an enclosure/cabinet cover having atleast one notch;
wherein the protruded portion of the rear cover is assembled with the notch such that the notch acts as a stopper for the rear cover.
2. The assembling mechanism as claimed in claim 1 wherein the rear cover is assembled to the enclosure in a manner to provide space for easy removal of the rear cover.
3. The assembling mechanism as claimed in claim 1 wherein the length of the protruded portion is superior than the length of the notch thereby allowing the notch to act as a stopper.
