Assembly And Method For Monitoring Concentricity And Parallelism Of Tire Loader In Tire Curing Press

Abstract: A tire loader assembly (50) for monitoring concentricity and parallelism of a tire loader (26) in a tire curing press (30) is disclosed. A sliding bracket (1) that moves up and down on a linear motion guide rail (25) is connected to a rotating arm (2) by a bearing (4) and a chuck assembly (3) having a chuck plate (14) attached to the rotating arm (2) to hold a tire. An inclinometer (11) is mounted on a mounting plate (12) attached to the chuck plate (14) to measure deviation in tilt of the chuck plate (14) from its initial inclination with respect to a platen surface (31). The inclinometer (11) continuously transmits signal to a PLC, and PLC determines if the deviation is above a tolerance value for adjusting parallelism of the loader (26). A first profile sensor (15) and a stopper CAM (18) is mounted on a sliding bracket (1) in parallel to measure wear of a stopper bolt (17) located on the rotating arm (2) while the tire loader (26) is performing IN / OUT operation. A second profile sensor (22) is mounted on the rotating arm (2) to measure a relative displacement of the chuck plate (14) with respect to center (32) of the rotating arm (2) and to determine loosening of a radial position stopper bolt (20). The first profile sensor (15) and the second profile sensor (22) continuously transmits signal to the PLC, and PLC determines if the displacement is above a tolerance value for adjusting concentricity of the loader (26).
