Field of the invention

Background of the invention
[0002] Generally, refrigerators are adapted to store various foods at a low temperature in a fresh state for a long time in a storage chamber by supplying cold air generated from an evaporator of a cooling cycle to the storage chamber. Occasionally consumed edible items liek pulses/grains, dryfruits are often stored in the freezer to avoid pest attack and high humidity. They are clipped in small pouches and kept on the freezer shelf. Often they are out of sight and are pushed back by other food items. In order to avoid this, the present invention provides a solution in the form of mounting jar in the household appliance.

Provided is a storage system and a refrigeration appliance including the storage system for storing food items in a temperature-controlled environment. The storage system includes a rail attached to a liner panel. The rail includes at least one mounting structure configured to pass through an aperture in the liner panel. A bin has an arm extending from a rear surface of the bin. The bin is placed in a storage position. The arm is placed between the rail and the liner panel when the bin is placed in the storage position. Another example of the storage system and refrigeration appliance includes a foot extending from a rear surface of the bin. Yet another example includes interaction between a bin tab and a plurality of bumps on the rail to prevent side to side motion.

Brief description of the invention:
[0004] It is an object of the invention to provide an atleast one mounting jar in a household appliance.

[0005] The objects are solved by an atleast one mounting jar in a household appliance having the features according to claims 1 and 10.

The at least one mounting jar for storing at least one item .The at least one mounting jar comprises a front wall and a rear wall. The at least one mounting jar comprises an interior portion for storing the at least one item and further comprises a pocket made on the rear wall for mounting the at least one mounting jar.

The mounting jars are made portable and easy to carry in the kitchen closer to work space. With the above disclosed mounting jars, the freezer compartment of the applaince appears more organized and allows the users to store more edible items without much concern. Air tight lid on each of the mounting jar helps in avoiding the spillage of the items while mounting and unmounting of the mounting jar from the door liner of the appliance. Due to the removalable feature in the mouting jar, the washing and cleaning of the jars regularly is made easy.The removal feature of the mounting jar helps the user to replace the jar in case of any damage and also to maintain by pulling out of the appliance 10.

[0017]The mounting jar occupies the door side space of the appliance, thus not disturbing the storing space formed in the compartments. The new design of the mounting jar disclosed in the present invention, helps in better utilization of the door side spaces and provides a low cost effective solution that also works as a retrofit solution to the existing appliance. Depending on the requirement of the user, the size of the mounting jar can be modiified. The mounting jars not only used to store the edible items , but also one can store non-edible items like medicines, small beverage items and the like. The seggregation of items by using the above disclosed mounting jars is made easy for the user of the appliance.

Detailed description of the embodiments
[0021] Figure 1 illustrates at least one mounting jar according to one embodiment of the invention. The at least one mounting jar 12 for storing at least one item 13.The at least one mounting jar 12 comprises a front wall 14 and a rear wall 16. The at least one mounting jar 12 comprises an interior portion 18 for storing the at least one item 13 and further comprises a pocket 20 made on the rear wall 16 for mounting the at least one mounting jar 12.

[0022] Figure 2 illustrates an exploded view of the at least one mounting jar, in accordance with the present invention. The mounting jar 12 comrpises a lid 22 positioned on top of the interior portion 18 of the at least one mounting jar 12. The lid 22 is made of a flexible material like a rubber, flexible plastic, silicon or any other material that is known in the state of the art. The lid 22 is removably fitted on the interior portion 18 to make the at least one mounting jar 12 as an air tight jar. Once the user fills in the jar 12, with a little amount of pressure exerted on the lid 22 , such that, the lid 22 is fitted into the jar 12. The side walls of the lid 22 goes into the interior portion 18 of the jar 12, thus avoiding the air to enter the interior portion 18 of the at least one mounting jar 12. The side walls 23 are made to the interior portion 18 (not shown) to the lid 22 such that, the closing and opening of the lid 22 is made comfortable for the user of the appliance 10.

[0023] The mounting jar 12 comprsies a first portion 24 and a second portion 26, wherein the first portion 24 of the at least one mounting jar 12 has larger dimensions than a second portion 26. The dimensions of the lid 22 is made according to the dimensions of the first portion 24. According to one embodiment of the invention, the first portion 24 and the second portion 26 is made of same dimensions. The pocket 20 is made as an integral component on the rear wall 16 of the at least one mounting jar 12. The position of the pocket 20 is not restricted one place, but can be of any other place on the mounting jar 12, that is convenient for mounting purpose.

[0024] According to one embodiment of the invention, the at least one mounting jar 12 comprises a knob made on the front wall and an opening at a bottom surface of the mounting jar 12. The knob and the opening are mechanically connected in such a way that, rotation of the knob opens a cover of the opening for dispensing the items 13 that are stored in the mounting jar 12.

[0025] According to another embodiment of the invention, the at least one mounting jar 12 comprises a movable cover for an opening made on the front wall. The opening comprises a step like structure for easy dispensing of the items 13 stored in the mounting jar 12. When a user of the appliance 10 operates the mounting jar 12 by moving the cover from a closed position to an open position, due to this step like structure, the items that are stored in the mounting jar 12 falls off from the interior portion without much hassel. The opening is made on the front wall at the bottom portion of the mounting jar 12.

The household appliance 10 comprises at least one compartment 28 for storing at least one item 13. The applaince 10 comprises a door 30 for accessing inside of at least one compartment 30. The appliane 10 comprises at least one mounting jar 12 having a front wall 14 and a rear wall 16. The at least one mounting jar 12 of the appliance 10 comprises an interior portion 18 for storing the at least one item 13 and a pocket 20 made on the rear wall 16 for mounting the at least one mounting jar 12.

[0027]Further , the construction of the appliance 10 and the at least one mounting jar 12 is explained in detail. According to one embodiment of the invention, the appliance 10 is a refrigerator. The appliance 10 is chosen from a group of appliances comprising a single door refrigerator, a mutli-door refrigerator and the like. The usage of the storage box 12 as mentioned in the present invention, is not limited to using in the refrigerator 10 , but can be any other place that can be removably mounted onto a surface in any kind of household appliance 10 that is known in the state of the art. The at least one mounting jar 12 is made of a material like a flexible plastic, rubber, silicon and the like, such that, the tear and wear of the at least one mounting jar 12 will be minimized while mounting and unmounting the at least one mounting jar 12 at the door side of the appliance 10.

[0028] The appliance 10 comprises a mounting hook 32 fitted on a liner 34 of the door 30 of the appliance 10 for receiving the at least one mounting jar 12. Each of the mouting jar 12 will have a correpsonding mounting hook fitted on the liner 34 of the door 30 of the appliance 10. The mounting hook 32 is fitted on the liner 34 of the door 30 of the appliance 10 using at least one fitting element 36 and by at least one fitting technique. For instance, the fitting element is a screw 36 and the mounting hook 32 is fitted onto the door liner 34 of the appliance 10 using a screw fit technique. According to one embodiment of the invention, the at least one mounting jar 12 is mounted onto the door liner 34 of the appliance 10 using two screws as shown in the figure 2.

[0029] The appliance 10 comprises a cover 38 for the at least one fitting element 36, such that the cover 38 is made to blend in the mounting hook 32. The cover 38 here in according to the present invention is a screw cap. Each screw/fitting element 36 will have a corresponding screw cap/cover 38 made in such a way that, the screwcap/cover 38 is blended into the mounting hook 32. The pocket 20 of the at least one mounting jar 12 have a cut-section corresponding to a shape of the mounting hook 32 fitted on the door liner 34, for mounting the at least one mounting jar 12 at the door side 30 of the appliance 10.

[0030] The assembly and working of the at least one mounting jar 12 is explained in detail. The mounting hook 32 is fitted onto the door liner 34 of the appliance 10 using two screws 36 and via the screw fit technique. The screw caps 38 are fitted onto corresponding screws 36, such that, the rough surface of the screw 36 will not damage the surface of the at least one mounting jar 12 when mounted onto the mounting hook 32. Once the mounting hook 32 is fitted, the at least one mounting jar 12 is positioned on the mounting hook 32 in a way that, the pocket 20 is made enclosed onto the mounting hook 32. This arrangment of mounting hook 32 locking /positioning into the pocket 20 of the mounting jar 12, makes the jar 12 to be in an intact position.

[0031] When the user of the mounting jar 12 wants to remove the jar 12 for accessing the items stored inside the jar 12, he/she has to apply a pressure for lifting the jar 12 from the mounting hook 32, such that, the pocket 20 and the mounting hook 32 will be unlocked and the mounting jar 12 can be removed with ease.

1. An at least one mounting jar (12) for storing at least one item (13) , said mounting jar (12) comprising :
- a front wall (14) and a rear wall (16);
- an interior portion (18) for storing said at least one item (13);
- a pocket (20) made on said rear wall (16) for mounting said at least one mounting jar (12).

2. The at least one mounting jar (12) as claimed in claim 1, comprises a lid (22) positioned on top of said interior portion (18) of said at least one mounting jar (12).

3. The at least one mounting jar (12) as claimed in claim 2, said lid (22) is removably fitted on said interior portion (18) to make said at least one mounting jar (12) as an airtight jar.

4. The at least one mounting jar (12) as claimed in claim 1, a first portion (24) of said at least one mounting jar (12) has larger dimensions than a second portion (26).

5. The at least one mounting jar (12) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said pocket (20) is made as an integral component on said rear wall (16) of said at least one mounting jar (12).

6. A household appliance (10) comprising:
- at least one compartment (28) for storing at least one item (13);
- a door (30) for accessing said at least one compartment (30) ;
characterized in that:
at least one mounting jar (12) comprising :
- a front wall (14) and a rear wall (16);
- an interior portion (18) for storing said at least one item (13);
- a pocket (20) made on said rear wall (16) for mounting said at least one mounting jar (12).
7. The appliance (10) as claimed in claim 6, wherein a mounting hook (32) is fitted on a liner (34) of said door (30) of said appliance (10) for receiving said at least one mounting jar (12).
8. The appliance (10) as claimed in claim 6, wherein said mounting hook (32) is fitted on said liner (34) of said door (30) of said appliance (10) using at least one fitting element (36).
9. The appliance (10) as claimed in claim 8, comprises a cover (38) for said at least one fitting element (36), such that said cover (38) is made to blend in said mounting hook (32).
10. The appliance (10) as claimed in claim 6, wherein said pocket (20) have a cut-section (40) corresponding to a shape of said mounting hook (32) fitted on said door liner (34), for mounting said at least one mounting jar (12) at said door (30) side of said appliance (10).
