, Description:Field of invention

The present invention relates to an attachment for a commode, and more particularly to an attachment for a commode for cleaning human body part after defecation automatically.

Background of the invention

The basic personal hygiene system in most households includes a bathroom having a conventional toilet system comprised of a toilet bowl, a toilet seat and a cover lid combination, a tank for flushing the toilet bowl, a cold water supply to the tank and a toilet-paper roll holder.

In Indian and other few countries people do not use the toilet paper and favor water washes mostly by water sprays and jets.

The water jet is normally located on the back side of the commode with a stationary water jet discharge nozzle attached at the inside bottom of the commode to spray pressurized water on to the user, when the user sits on the commode.

Further, the water sprays are attached somewhere near the commode and user has to press and spray the water manfully to wash the user part.

Another issue with the current commode system is that the cover lid of the commode has to be opened and closed manually before and after every use. As the toilet commode is used by multiple people, the manual opening and closing of the lid of the commode is unhygienic.

However, the water spray and the water jet have to operate manually which affects the hygiene of the user.

Accordingly, there exists a need to provide a system for cleaning human body part after defecation, which over comes abovementioned drawbacks.

Objects of the invention

An object of the present invention is to provide hygiene to the use while using toilet commode.

Another object of the present invention to clean the user body part automatically after defecation.

Summary of the invention

Accordingly, the present invention provides an attachment for a commode for cleaning human body part after defecation. The attachment comprises a base plate coupled to a gel tensioner of the commode seat. Specifically, the baseplate comprises at least one grove configured thereon to a slide water jet therein.

The attachment further comprises a housing positioned at one end of the base plate. The housing comprises a motor with a shaft for connecting to the gel tensioner, wherein motor with shaft enables in smooth operation of opening and closing of a lid of the commode.

The housing further comprises an extrusion configured on the shaft which act a limiter to the opening of the lid above predefined position, a PCB configured to control operation of the motor, the water jet and the lid, and a PIR based human motion sensor to detect the presence of the user inside the toilet. Specifically, the detection of the user by the PIR based causes the motor to rotate resulting in the opening of the lid, and in absence of the user for predefined period leads to rotation of the motor to close the lid.

The housing furthermore comprises at least one first infrared sensor to detect the user sitting on the commode, wherein the signal from the infrared sensor does not allow the motor to close the lid giving safety to the user.

The housing also comprises at least one second infrared sensor configured on the housing which when touched by the user starts the water jet.

Brief description of the drawings

Figure 1 shows a schematic drawing of an attachment for a commode for cleaning human body part after defecation; and

Figure 2 shows arrangement of the attachment of the above figure with the commode.

Detailed description of the invention
The foregoing objects of the present invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with the prior art, techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention as described below in the preferred embodiment.

Referring now to figure 1, there is shown an attachment (100) for a commode for cleaning human body part after defecation. In an embodiment of the present invention, the attachment (100) can be used on the existing commode without any modification in the existing commode. The attachment (100) allows automatic opening and closing of the lid of the commode and also provides for automatic cleaning of the user body part, for example the portion in between the buttocks, after defecation.

The attachment (100) comprises a base plate (10) and housing (20). The base plate (10) is flat plate capable of attaching to a gel tensioner (32) of the commode (not shown) where the lid (30) is hinged. In an embodiment, the base plate (10) includes at least two openings (10a, 10b) for easy fixing of the baseplate (10) to the gel tensioner of the lid (30) such that baseplate (10) hangs firmly along the side of the commode.

The baseplate (10) also includes at least one grove (not shown) configured thereon to a slide water jet (not shown) therein. In an embodiment, the water jet is configured across the width of the baseplate (10) though the groove. Specifically, the water jet is connected to the water tank through a pipe such that water from the water jet flows with pressure in normal condition when made ON. The baseplate (10) is connected to the housing (20).

Specifically, the housing (30) positioned at one end of the base plate (10) i.e. the gel tensioner connects the baseplate (10) one end and the housing (20) connects the baseplate (10) operably to the other end.

The housing (20) comprises a motor (22) with a shaft (22a). Specifically, the shaft (22a) of the motor (22) connects the gel tensioner where the lid (30) is hinged at the commode. The motor (22) with the shaft (22a) enables in smooth operation of opening and closing of the lid (30).

The shaft (22a) comprises an extrusion (not shown) which act a limiter to the opening of the lid (30) above predefined position i.e. more than 90 degrees on the back side.

The housing (20) also comprises a PCB (24) configured therein to control operation to motor (22), water jet (not shown) and the lid (30).

The housing (20) further comprises a PIR based human motion sensor (26) configured on front portion thereof. The PIR based human motion sensor (26) detects presence of the user inside the toilet. The PIR based human motion sensor (26) operably coupled to the motor (22) and the lid (30) through the PCB (24). When the PIR based human motion sensor (26) detects the user inside the toilet, the PIR based human motion sensor (26) causes the motor (22) to rotate resulting in the opening of the lid (30).

The housing (20) furthermore comprises at least one first infrared sensor (not shown) configured on the housing (20) to detect the user sitting on the commode. The first infrared sensor is operably coupled to the motor (22) through the PCB (24) and does not allow the motor (22) to close the lid (30) giving safety to the user, when user is seated on the commode.

The housing (20) moreover comprises at least one second infrared sensor (28) configured on the housing (20) which when touched by the user starts the water jet. The second infrared sensor (28)is operably coupled to the water jet through the PCB (24) which controls ON/OFF operation of the water jet. Specifically, the user has to put a hand on the second infrared sensor for predefined time, for example 3 seconds. The predefined time to activate the second infrared sensor may be varied as per requirement of the user. The second infrared sensor (28) activates and deactivates a solenoid valve that controls the water flow in the jet for cleaning the user body part.

In an embodiment, in absence of the user for certain period in the toilet, the motor (22) rotates to close the lid (30).

In an embodiment, the first infrared sensor and the second infrared sensor (28) can be replaced by capacitive sensor, a lever or a button or a switch may also be provided for the same function of opening and closing of the water jet as well avoiding closure of the lid (30) when the user is sitting on the commode.

In an embodiment, the base plate (10), the housing (20) and the shaft (22a) comprises the LED lights (not shown) configured thereon for providing luminosity at night.

In another embodiment, the housing (10) comprises an USB port charge electronic items like mobile phones

The attachment (100) is powered by normal electric power from grid. However, it may be evident to those skilled in the art to use battery power, power from solar energy to power various elements of the attachment (100).

Advantages of the invention

1. The attachment (100) provides hygiene to the use while using toilet commode.

2. The attachment (100) provides clean the user body part automatically after defecation.

3. The attachment (100) provides for automatic opening and closing of the lid when detects user inside the toilet.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present invention and its practical application, and to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
