Abstract: Chalk and board is a traditional and stilt the most commonly used teaching aid in developing, countries like India. Chalk is major source of fine particulate matter in classroom which may produce pulmonary function, impairments. Teachers using chalk and board are at an increased risk of developing occupationalty related pulmonary function impairments and hence there is a need to shift from routine chalk and develop some method for betterment. Occupational and environmental lung diseases are one of the major problems of clinical medicine. About 15-20% of the burden of adult asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been estimated to be due to occupational factors. Dustless and antidusting chalks which are actually less dust producing chalks are available in market but these are less commonly used in developing countries because of their high cost as compare to dusty chalks. The various improved blackboard eraser structure came into being, but these improvements not fundamentally solve the problem and it is being too costly and difficult to spread. Our efforts are directed towards making a duster which will be cam operated mechanism. The duster is supposed to be attached to a fixture which will be connected to end of rod. The design will be carried out considering the frequency of impact. Optimum frequency of impact and force will be calculated .A frame is supposed to be constructed for impact of duster to be imparted on. The growth of technologies requested higher performance machine in order to fulfill human needs and market. This project is implemented to make human work easier and can reduce the use of human power because of its potential applications. This appertains to new and useful improvements and more particularly to an apparatus whereby duster can be cleaned in an easy and convenient manner.
