Automatic Detection Of Alterations In Documents”
Abstract: System and method for automatic detection of alterations in the document and segregating them from the unaltered documents are described. The alterations can be detected either by pixel density calculation or by line detection in the characters or words that are altered. The alterations can be classified into low density alterations, middle density alterations and high density alterations. The alterations can be further detected by the presence of signatures in the vicinity of the alteration which further enhances the confidence value of the financial document (cheques) means that the document is actually altered. The altered documents can be sent for manual verification or to other specialized systems which can use various fraud detection techniques to detect cases of forgery in financial documents.
