Automatic Saree Ironing And Folding Machine

Abstract: The saree ironing and folding machine saves the cost and time of ironing. It performs both ironing and folding automatically. Once the saree is fed into the machine it automatically moves the saree to the next end. The specific part of the saree gets ironed twice. The ironed saree moves to the folding section, which has two different parts. The primary folding section catches the ironed part and folds it so that the next section of the saree will be moved to the ironing section. When the entire saree gets ironed and folded by the primary folding section, the partially folded saree moves to the secondary folding section and the folding is completed. The complete process is controlled with the help of ARM processor. The machine is designed such that the heat of the ironer is changed automatically based on the cloth type.

Specification

Field of invention:
The present disclosure is for a machine that will be able to iron and fold a saree automatically with minimum human effort.
Background of the invention:
The primary objective of this innovation is to provide an automatic machine to iron and fold a saree. At present, ironing of sarees is either done manual or partially by machine. The time and effort used for sarees stiffened using starch and for sarees without stiffening arc also different. The conventional method is time consuming and tiring when the material of the sarees is different. This proposed automatic machine will reduce the human effort to a ' minimum"orplacmg the saree on to the machine correctly. I he saree will come out of the

machine wrinkle free and folded irrespective of ihe material. This will conserve time and economical as more number of sarees are ironed in minimum time. The advantages of this machine are avoiding the risk of heat burns during ironing, damaging the saree by setting the heat incorrectly saving the folding time. This machine needs just one operator for the entire time. This invention can reduce the human effort & time and thereby increases the quality of living.
Summary of the invention
This is an innovative device for ironing and folding the saree that are produced by
weavers and machineries. In traditional method the ironing and folding of saree are done by
few people employed by the weaver or by the factory and there may be the occurrence of
misalignment while folding the saree which in turn increases the folding time. The machine
takes it to new level automations which include both ironing as well as folding of saree. The
ironing and folding processes are carried out by the support of electrical, electromechanical
and mechanical parts that are employed in the machine. This machine does not require skilled
person for operation. -

Brief Description nl'the I'rciVrretl Kmbodinu-nis
The Saree ironing and folding machine consists of Hie saree holder, ironer. 2stage Iblderand automatic heat controller. They are all controlled by ARM processor. A brief description of the different components are given below:
SAREE HOLDER:
The saree holder consists of clampers, rollers and proximity sensors. The c type clamp is used
to hold the saree properly. The proximity sensor is used to identify the movement of saree
which is placed for the ironing. The movement of the saree is controlled with the help of
motors and actuators.
THE IRONER:
Aniron slider is placed on the saree in a horizontal manner in order to iron the saree. The
saree gets ironed twice with the help of sliding ironer and ensures the perfectwrinkles free !
ironing of the specific area which is present on the table.
PRIMARY FOLDER:
The ironed saree is first folded by the primary folder. The primary folder consists of c-holder
with solenoid linear actuator. The folder will be activated after the ironing process in each
part of the saree. The folding of the ironed saree part will take places in parallel with the
ironing of the next part of the saree.
SECONDARY FOLDER:
The above saidfolder once completely folds the saree andthen process it to the secondary
folder which consists of table and gears. The secondary folder catches the half folded saree
and it completes the folding process.
AUTOMATIC HEAT CONTROL:
The system will get the type of the saree fabric as the input from the user.Based on the type
of the fabric, the heat in the ironer will be adjusted. The rheostat control will operate
automatically based on the user input.
ARM PROCESSOR:
The movement of the saree. primary and secondary folderand heat control are controlled
using an ARM processor.Since the-ironing is done in a step by step manner and a single
system performs both ironing and folding the advanced processor is needed to control and
coordinate the system.

MOkkiNt; PRINCIPLE
Working principle of this Saree ironing and folding maehineis explained below.
Step I:
The saree is inserted on the saree holder by the worker. As soon as the saree is placed, the saree will be moved on the table with the help of motor. The saree holder is designed to hold a fixed length of saree on the table and it is monitored with proximity sensor.
Step 2:
The iron .slider is placed at the one end of the saree. The saree which is placed in the ironing area is ironed twice with the help of iron slider. After ironing the wrinkle free saree will be moved out of the table by roller.
Step 3:
The primary folder catches the saree and holds it by c-clamp which is activated by the actuator. The first folding takes place for the ironed portion of the saree meanwhile the next portion of the saree will be made available for ironing. The primary folder will wait for some delay until the next ironed section to enter into the folding section.
Step 4:
Once the complete saree gels ironed and folded by the primary folder, the secondary folder gets activated. This folder receives the half folded saree and completes the folding with the help of the woodensetup with stepper motors.
Step 5:
The folded saree is finally dropped in to the basket.
