Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System (ATRIS) is designed to irrigate area with water which breaks in to droplet by even distribution of water in the area to be irrigated mainly like farming land.
Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System of the present invention travel on Wheels using power generated on its own Hydro Motor. Speed and spread of water by Rain Gun controlled by Gear box. A highly cost effective and water saving system.
BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION

Irrigation is the process of water supply to the crops by various sources of water like wells, ponds, lakes, canals, tube-wells and even dams. Irrigation to the crop fulfils their moisture requirement for growth and development, germination and other related functions.
The amount, frequency, rate and time of irrigation are different for different crops and also vary according to the typed of land/soil and seasons.
There are mainly two different types of irrigation and the methods used for irrigation.
• Traditional irrigation method
• Modern irrigation method
In traditional method, irrigation is done manually where a farmer pulls out water from wells or canals by himself or using cattle and carries to farming fields. This method is cheap but chances of water loss are very high. Pump system is the most common and used widely.
The modern method compensates the disadvantages of traditional methods and thus helps in the proper way of water usage by saving water loss.
In the modern method there are two systems:
• Drip system
• Sprinkler system

In the drip system, water supply is done drop by drop exactly at roots using a hose or pipe. This method can also be used in regions where water availability is less.
A sprinkler system, as its name suggests, sprinkles water over the crop and helps in an even distribution of water. This method is much advisable in areas facing water scarcity. Here a pump is connected to pipes which generate pressure and water is sprinkled through nozzles of pipes.
In sprinkler or overhead irrigation, water is reached to one or more central locations within the field and distributed by overhead high-pressure sprinklers.
US20170359975A1 discloses center pivot irrigation system, claiming a travelling agricultural irrigation installation comprising multiple generally horizontal irrigation sprinklers each of which comprises a length of sprinkler pipe closed at each end and having a longitudinal axis; a water inlet to the interior of the sprinkler pipe; and multiple outlet orifice sets along the length of the sprinkler pipe, wherein each orifice is in the form of a hole through the sprinkler pipe wall having an orifice diameter selected to provide, in use, a jet of water that breaks up into droplets, and wherein each orifice set comprises multiple orifices having axes extending in different angular directions relative to the sprinkler pipe axis to provide a generally rectangular spray pattern and wherein the length of each sprinkler pipe or the number of orifice sets or both is or are dependent on the speed at which the sprinkler is to move over the ground in use.
Centre pivot irrigation systems generally consist of a radial main supply pipe supported by a central tower about which the entire system rotates and by radially spaced mobile towers. Hence it is difficult to apply in general.
Sprinklers irrigation well-known method is that can be mounted on moving platforms connected to the water source by a pipe. By that developed are automatically moving wheeled systems known as traveling sprinklers may irrigate small areas like small farms, sports fields, parks, pastures. In this use is of polyethylene tubing wounded on a steel drum and drum powered by the irrigation water or a small gas engine. This type of system is stationary pipe reel which rotates while pulling the sprinkler attached to the pipe, useful for small farms of gardens only and not useful for large farms.
In the present invention we developed a system for large farms which moves in a linear motion with the power generated from water pressure. A system is irrigating using rain guns mounted overhead on automatically travelling irrigation system. This helps in saving water, energy and time.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Figure 1 is layout of schematic illustration of the Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System of the present invention

Figure 2 Hydro motor with bypass system
In system of the present invention principal parts and subordinates with its functions mentioned below:
1. Structure with Wheels of Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System
2. Hydro Motor arranged in the system to run the system without any electric/fossil fuel power
3. Gear box for Speed managing.
4. Winder Assembly / Rotor
5. Rain Gun
In detail to describe the figures of the present invention Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System comprises Structure with Wheels 1 which is the system travels in the direction of the land finalized for spreading water as per the requirement of season and soil, Hydro Motor 2 to travel the system to make water available from water point A to B. This requirement of water supply is maintained by Gear box 3 via Speed controlling Mechanism and Winder Assembly/rotor 4 and finally water sprinkles to the crop through Rain Gun 5 mounted overhead on automatically travelling irrigation system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In the first embodiment of the invention as illustrated in the drawings pressurized water is supplied to the inlet – A 6 of hydro motor 2 to get desired rotational RPM of the turbine. After rotating the turbine same water goes in the output – B 7 where Rain gun 5 is Mounted on the top of the system. The irrigating system of the present invention requires water supply of required amount based on the area to be irrigated at required pressure. Once pressurized water reaches as an inlet to the Rain gun water distribution is controlled by rain gun in the form of distance Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System (ATRIS) and height of crop through its outlet. Rain Gun circulates in 360 Degree. Rain Gun Sprinkles water in to the air at desired angle and distance to get maximum reach by way of droplets of water evenly distributed on the ground / land / surface up to the distance expected even more than 50 meters. Rotation angle of the rain gun can be controlled by adjusting clamps provided on rain gun.
In another embodiment, the present invention includes a self-operable bypass valve 8 for the desired quantity of water flows from point A 6 to Point B 7 without entering in to hydro motor when the pressure of the water is too high. In the hydro motor when the pressure of the water is too high then it tends to rotate the turbine / rotor shaft at higher RPM then required, so user can reduce the speed of turbine / rotor shaft by opening a bypass valve in required amount.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention is Hydro Motor arranged in the system to run the system without any electric power. Shaft of hydro motor 2 is connected to Gear Box 3 for Speed controlling Arrangement of Input Shaft by chain and sprocket mechanism. Travelling speed of the system depends on the requirement of crops, season and soil. Based on the irrigation speed requirement the outing end of the gear box or speed controlling arrangement rotation need to be fixed. Outing end of the Gear Box or Speed controlling Arrangement is connected to the Winding Rotor with chain and sprocket mechanism. When start supplying water to the inlet of the hydro motor, it rotates the impeller and thereby rotates turbine and rotor shaft which is reduced by gear box or speed controlling mechanism and the reduced speed is transferred to the winding rotor and so winding rotor starts rotating. One steel cable / wire rope / rope is rounded on the winding rotor at it’s one end and the second end is anchored in soil or with any surface at a point at which the system needs to be travelled to complete its irrigation. The winding mechanism thus pulls the system forward and thus irrigating a vast area of land from just single unit. The winding mechanism is separate for forward and reverse travelling of the system. Travelling of the system either way is adjusted by ‘U’ turn of the system manually replacing the attached cable to the relevant point. Forward travelling is defined from the water source site to the destination to complete and reverse travelling is reverse of that. Once travelling forwarding when the system is reached at the destination and now to reverse the system just by ‘U’ turn of the system manually and detached forwarding winding mechanism and attached cable of reverse winding mechanism which is fixed on the previous point.
Installation of the Automatic Traveling Rain Gun Irrigation System of according to the invention can be understood step by step as under:
Step 1 Based on the area to be irrigated, water availability and the average rate of water supply first step is selection of operating pressure head; the droplet size and the orifice size of the pipe at the soil, the spacing between orifices, mounting height of the rain gun.
Step 2 Calculation of rate and influence of energy generated through hydro motor to throw drops at desired crop or surface before crop grown and speed and force of drops on the crop
Step 3 Fitting of pipe at water supply site and arranging the pipe having orifice under soil and adjusted with hydro motor and tested for the requirement of the action
Step 4 In the process the system suck water from the water supply site by electric motor or Pump
Thus, the present invention provides a highly flexible, simple and effective automatic travelling Rain Gun Irrigation System therein.
