Figure 1 shows block diagram of an automatic window closing system in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 describes working flowchart of an automatic window closing system in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
Referring to Figure 1, automatic window closing system (1) comprises of set of input signals (2), input signal processing unit / controller (3) and set of output (4). The set of input signals (2) comprises of rain sensor (5), air conditioner switch in ON position (6), ambient temperature sensor (7), vehicle speed sensor (8) and remote locking (9). The rain sensor (5) is mounted on the wind screen of a vehicle and it senses the rain falling on the vehicle / windscreen. Air conditioner switch (6) is mounted on the instrument panel of a vehicle and used to switch ON/OFF the air conditioner. Ambient air temperature sensor (7) is mounted on the instrument panel of a vehicle and it senses the ambient temperature inside the vehicle cab / passenger compartment. Vehicle speed sensor (8) is mounted on the transmission and it senses the pulses of transmission system. Remote locking (9) system is generally in the ignition key to lock the vehicle from remote location.
Signal processing unit (3) receives the input signals either in analogue or digital form or combination of thereof and code it in the format compatible to the controller. Ambient temperature sensor, 'ON' position of AC switch and Rain sensor gives analog inputs to the controller where as Vehicle speed sensor gives digital input to the controller for its processing. The controller unit processes the input signal and again decode it to actuate the latch of the window by which the window is closed automatically.
Based on these input parameters, the system gives output in any of the three formats or combination of thereof. The output from the system is mechanical action leading to auto close of window (10), audio message (11) such as Window is going to close' or 'Switch ON AC as the case may be, and visual output (12) by blinking yellow light on the integrated panel of a vehicle if malfunction is detected in the system.
The processing / control unit (3) is embedded with a particular logic performing task as per the flow chart as illustrated in figure 2 and is configured to process the input signals and triggers the glass winding latch of
the window to close the window automatically. The signal processing / control unit is located under the driver seat and it is well connected with the input sensors and output devices with wiring harness and/or any suitable communication modules.
Referring to figure 2, when there is a rain, the rain sensor mounted on the wind screen of a vehicle senses it and sends the message/signal to the controller for its processing. The controller processes the input information, decodes it in the required format and actuates the glass winding mechanism of the window thereby closing the window automatically. While closing the window, the system gives audio message for the passenger's safety that Window is going to close'.
When the air conditioner of a vehicle is put ON, the system takes 'ON position of AC switch' as the input and send it +o the controller. The controller processes the information and actuates the glass winding mechanism of the window thereby closing the window of a vehicle automatically.
When the temperature inside vehicle cab / passenger compartment goes beyond 24 degrees, the temperature sensor mounted on the instrument panel of a vehicle senses it and imparts the information to the controller for further processing. The controller processes the information, decodes it in the desired format and gives the audio message as 'Switch ON AC for the driver and/or co-driver. When the AC is put ON, the glass of a window starts winding and window gets automatically closed as described above.
When the forward speed of a vehicle goes beyond 60 kmph, the vehicle speed sensor mounted on transmission gear pulser senses this information and imparts to the controller for processing. The controller processes the input data and actuates mechanism to close the window automatically and also gives the audio message for the passengers / occupants of the compartment as Window is going to close'.
In case of remote locking of a vehicle, the system actuates and closes the window automatically. In remote locking only mechanical action of closing the window takes place and there is no audio message regarding the closure of window glasses.
If there is error in the system or processor / control unit of the system is not able to process the data, the system goes into diagnostic mode and gives the visual message to the user / occupant of the vehicle that there is malfunction in the system by glowing yellow light on the "nstrument panel of a vehicle.
ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:
• The system provides safety alert for the passengers and drivers by giving the audio/voice message.
• The system provides time delay in order to move out the hot air from the inside of a vehicle in initial condition before closing the window automatically when AC is switched ON.
• It is an effortless system and no manual action is required to close the window.
• Window closing being automatic, the air conditioner will be faster and more efficient.
• Vehicle with this system will attract the customers.
