Autonomous Active Tag Aware Connected Camera

Abstract: General camera systems used in surveillance are prone to miss the blind spots, provide proactive movement pattern, subject identification, and mechanism to raise alerts. The invention presented here is an intelligent image/video capture device integrated with 2.4 GHz BLE module. This information captured from active tags is embedded with the image/video capture of camera unit. This independently provides the complete pattern of movement of subject from one image to another image taken on different units. Using the appropriate analytical software all camera unit that captured a subject can be linked and complete movement pattern is identified.

FIELD OF INVENTION:-
The Invention Integrates intelligent integrated circuit module on board with
Camera that enables capture of data for distance, data for any integrated
sensors and presence of subject bearing tags in blind-spots around Camera
within or beyond the frame unleashing the limitation of the present system(s) in
use extending to proving the data on distance of captured subject including
providing of data on number of subjects in frame of the camera and in blind
spots around the camera.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:-
Closed circuit television (CCTV) is video cameras to transmit signal on set of
monitors. It is extensively used for surveillance in almost every field from shop,
streets, workplaces, sporting events to day today business of life. That today
CCTV systems record and stores digital video and images to a digital video
recorder (DVR) or in case of IP cameras directly to the server either on site or
offsite. The area not covered under surveillance by camera is “blind spot”.
Installed CCTV collecting data has no access to the blind spot. The subject
entering the blind spot is not detected by the CCTV camera and no track of
subject is displayed on the monitor leaving security threat to the present system
of surveillance by the CCTV cameras.
The present invention uses electromagnetic filed to automatically identify subject
with tags containing stored information attached to it entering the blind spot.
The stored information in the non volatile memory in the subject is read through
electro-magnetic field to display images on display screen or monitor connected
to CCTV cameras.
The present invention consists of an integrated advanced circuit with a CCTV
Camera that captures, stores and processes information from around the line of
sight including ‘blind spots’. The subject entering the blind spot with customized
information tags are read and encoded by the present invention into images
captured by CCTV camera. Image thus captured is able to provide information

on subjects that are in frame and also in blind spots. These images when viewed
with software with detailing capabilities also shows the information gathered
from tags.
OBJECT OF INVENTION:
CCTV camera’s installed for surveillance at work places does not have access to
the blind spots making difficulty in 100% effective and complete surveillance.
The present invention collects information data through electromagnetic reader
from the tags carried with subject entering blind spot and otherwise in line of
sight codifying information into images.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION:
1] The present invention enhances functionality of monitoring the blind spots for
presence of active tag bearing subject is needed. 2] That an automated
identification of subject bearing active tag is needed when subject transitions
from one camera to another camera image. 3] And, video capturing trigger is
required on detection of presence of subject bearing tag even when not in frame
of camera. 4] Comparative distance of subject bearing tag from Camera is
needed to determine the density of number of subjects very close, near and far.
5] Whereas the captured information on tag, and any associated sensor is
needed to be embedded in the image for further pattern identification and
analysis.
The Camera is meant to capture images and video for visible subjects and
material in its frame of capture. 1] Image from CCTV camera is not able to
provide data on distance of captured subject from camera. 2] And, is also not
able to itself provide data on number of subject/item/people in frame of camera
and in blind-spots around camera.
In state of art work there does not exists camera with in-built intelligence of
distance measurement and blind-spot capturing.
The present invention: Integrates intelligent integrated circuit module on board
with Camera that enables capture of data for distance, data for any integrated

sensors and presence of subject bearing tags in blind-spots around Camera. The
subject may be in line of sight or may not be directly in line of sight (in blind
spot) with camera.
The invention captures the on-ground data with the frame capture on the
subjects bearing the active tags. Tags that operate on 2.4 GHz are enabled with
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) modules, acting as peripheral devices. These tags in
their advertisement packets emit at regular interval the value of any integrated
sensor and unique identification in and pre-defined encrypted mode. The
(invention) advanced integrated camera module with its integrated BLE scanner
as central device reads this information from the packets and embed the
information in the frame capture at that particular time stamp. These images
are stored on the device storage medium and are sent to central hosted server at
regular interval as defined by configuration.
The current available devices and solutions can only detect if the subject is
captured with active tag visible in the frame capture. This makes current
solutions very much error prone and un-reliable for the purpose. Capture,
embed, and transmit information namely, distance, physical presence, battery
charge status, sensor value of active tags in the frame as captured by camera.
Run as stand-alone unit with in-built analytical, and data capture, data linking,
frame data embedding capabilities. Securely transmit frame captured and
enhanced to external server for hosting, storage, and analytical purpose Run on
re-chargeable battery or external power supply.

CLAIM(S)
We claim,
1. The method for capturing image frame comprising a single device with
integrated module for identification of stored information embedded with
the subject through electromagnetic reader entering in to the blind spot
during CCTV surveillance.
Where, (i) the camera is a module to capture frames at 30 fps, (ii) Blue
Tooth is a low Energy (2.4GHz) module, (iii )a processing unit and control
unit comprises of an antenna module with Re-chargeable lithiumion/
polymer battery and a data storage module comprising of flash
memory, SD card or micro-SD card, (iv ) USB interface for plugging in
internet modem activity display LED indicators (v) an advanced Camera
device comprising of a Bluetooth Low Energy or Bluetooth smart module
which works as a Bluetooth Central Server (vi) an advanced Camera
device of embed the captured active tag, in line of sight and blind-spots,
information in image and video for transmission and storage (vi) an
advanced Camera device embed with sensor information captured from
active tag in the image and video for transmission and storage and (vii) an
advanced Camera device transmit stored data to a hosted central server
for movement pattern establishment, report generation, creation of
custom dashboards.
