Auxiliary Air Distribution System For Use In A Vehicle
Abstract: An air distribution system (20) for the distribution of air to a rear portion of a vehicle includes a housing (22) extending between a first (24) and second end (26). The housing (22) defines a plurality of first direct air outlets (54) disposed adjacent the first end (24) a plurality of second direct air outlets (60) disposed adjacent the second end (26) and a plurality of indirect air outlets (68) disposed between the first and second direct air outlets (54 60). An airflow control assembly (70) is configured to interchange airflow of the air distribution system (20) between a first mode in which airflow is open through the direct air outlets (54 60) but blocked from the indirect air outlets (68) for guiding air directly to occupants situated in the rear portion of the vehicle and a second mode in which airflow is restricted through the direct air outlets (54 60) and open through the indirect air outlets (68) to create a bloom of air over the rear vehicle occupants.
