Abstract: A battery module according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a battery cell stack in which a plurality of battery cells are stacked in one direction; and a module frame which accommodates the battery cell stack and has an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the module frame has at least one venting portion formed in one surface to penetrate through the inner surface and the outer surface, and a cover layer including a barrier layer and a refractory material layer is located between the one surface of the module frame, in which the venting portion is formed, and the battery cell stack.
