Battery Module And Battery Pack Comprising Same

Abstract: A battery module according to the present invention comprises: a battery cell assembly in which longitudinal unit cells, each having two or more battery cells arranged and connected in a row in the longitudinal direction, are stacked in two or more columns in the battery cell thickness direction; a hollow center guard arranged at connection locations of end parts of the battery cells facing each other in the longitudinal direction from the longitudinal unit cells; and a module case in which the battery cell assembly and the hollow center guard are accommodated, wherein a first venting hole allowing communication with the hollow of the hollow center guard is provided at the sidewall of the hollow center guard, and a second venting hole allowing communication with the hollow of the hollow center guard is provided at the module case, which covers the upper part of the hollow center guard. In addition, the present invention relates to a battery pack comprising the battery module.
