Battery Module With Reinforced Safety

Abstract: The present invention provides a battery module having an improved structure to enhance safety thereof when a thermal event occurs therein. A battery module according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a cell assembly including one or more battery cells; and a module case including a top plate, a base plate, and a side plate to limit an inner space thereof and accommodating the cell assembly in the inner space thereof, wherein the top plate is configured to have expansibility at least partially higher than that of at least one of the base plate and the side plate.
