This invention related to new idea for the development of new simple
low cost energy conversion and pollution saving apparatus which may be
called "Headless and Bhairan Less Gharat " ( Water Mill )" People self
reliance and utilization device.
There is no need to stress upon the importance and necessity for
research and development alternative energy resource more particularly in
hilly area and remote rural areas to develop water head till 2 meters ( 7 Feet
) for operatmg Gharat (traditional Water Mill ) to make a (Gool ) Channel
long up to 100 meter and more parallel of the rivers stream.
Since olden time Gharat is being used in Himalayan hilly region for
grinding flour. Which was being fabricated by local people by local
materials. There become need to operate exist Gharat water head minimum
7 feet head , and become fix at one place. Which become near natural
stream . and become damage due to flood often. And natural water head
also not become available every where. So there become need to create
water head to make a long channel parallel, which become costly and
become to do hard labor and expenses in constructing this. Which become
damages always every year due to flood or in rainy season. Installation of
the apparatus also can be done without doing any civil work on portable
steel fram.
Mostly people goes for grinding grain for his food on AAta Chakki
(Flour Mill) which become electric driven or diesel Engine operated , [
which does pollution. There is very big crises of electricity also. Aata
(Flour) also not become such taste in the comparison of Gharat or manual
operated traditional Aata Chakki.
Many thousands Gharats are installed by people in hilly areas smce
olden time to create water head or to make long channels but now there .

is no need to create any head or more head than 1 or 2 feet, which become
naturally available at many places. Where undershot water wheel can be
installed to do very less civil work and at the both end of water wheel
more than 2 Gharats or to add / coupled one additional shaft at one end of
water wheel though universal joints or belt and we can installed many
Gharats according to availability of power of water quantity . Water wheel
gives 10 to 50 RPM which become required for Gharat.. Here at the place
of Bhairan need to fix Pulleys or V-Belt pulleys on each Gharat to operate
them and pulleys on Wheel Shafts or in additional shafts. Belt have to use
to fold in cross way as in fig. no..
At any one end of water wheel shaft be can install any pump of
1500 or more or less RPM also for pumping water . Which can be run
through step up gear box or belts to increase RPM for pumping water.
All Gharat will be install in steel frames which can be dismantled
and assembled easily.
Some of the advantages of this apparatus may be listed as follows:-
A- Design of the apparatus is simple.
B- Direct conservation of energy of water by a single water wheel to
operate more than one Gharat.
C-By same water wheel water pumping also can be don^ for drinking
and irrigation with operating Gharat at a time.
D-More efficiency than Gharat without developing any head. Operation
is easy and can be operated by old or children same as Gharat.

E- No need of any fuel or electricity is required and operating cost is
minimum.
F- No need to make Panala to Cut Green Tree ( Wooden Channel) to
send water to operate Gharat.
G-Cost of construction and installation is low.
H- Maintenance is simple and cheap.
I- Much less cost of operation.
J- Does not create pollution and all.
K-It is easy to operate many Water mill so can be use at any site where
flowing water is available in streams.
L- No danger of flood by which maximum Gharat become disturb by
flood.
M- Useful in hilly and plan area also in both.
It is sustainable. No such simple device for grinding Grains
(Flour) to them where is no facility of natural fall (Water head ) of
water and electricity in India and abroad. In accordance with this
invention there is provided a water powered device only flowing
water current driven called "HEAD LESS GHARAT" converting
energy of flowing water current velocity into mechanical energy of
rotation and utilizing it for grinding grains comprising at least
suitable to rotate Water Wheel to operate Water mill) (Aata Chakki)
by the flowing water current. These Water wheel And Gharat (Water
Mill) can be fabricate by steel Angle Iron or wood.
Device /apparatus described is simple in construction and its
operation does not require any fuel. The village artisans can easily
fabricate the device and it can be installed by itself villager farmer

Operation of the apparatus is very sinnple and easy by opening
regulator and speed /RPM also can be controlled and can be reduce
and increased through regulator.
While ,it has be&n illustrated and described of invention , it is to be
understood that such is merely illustrated and not restrictive and that
variations and modifications may be made therein wi^out departure
from the scope of invention. It is, Aerefore, limited to the precise set
forth but desired to avail of such change as Ml within the purview of
this invention.

Operation of the apparatus is very simple and easy by opening

and increased through regulator.
While ,it has be«i illustrated and described of invention , it is to be

variations and nuydifications may be made therein witibout departure
from the scope of invention. It is, therefore , limited to the precise set
forth but desired to avail of such change as Ml within the purview of
this invention.
Claim-
1-There is no need of Bhakan (Any Wheel in Gharat) which is being
use in traditicmal water mill(Gharat).
2-At the both end of the shaft on which water wheel become fix, one
or more than one Gharat 2-3,4-5 Gharat can run according to
available water power.
3-Gharat run without any use of traditicmal Bhairan and at the place
of Bhairan belt pulley become use.
4-Bhairan Less Gharat substantially as herein described with
reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawmgs.
