Body Temperature Estimating System And Method

Abstract: The various embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method to estimate the body temperature accurately using an electronic thermometer and an algorithm. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the system is provided with a thermistor to measure the body temperature for preset duration. The measured temperature data is input into a processor. Application software is executed in the processor to analyze the acquired data to estimate a time constant. Then a mathematical equation containing the time constant is used to estimate the temperature of the body based on the acquired temperature data for the preset duration. Then the standard deviation and the error in the measurement are computed to adjust the estimated body temperature to obtain the accurate body temperature value.
