Bottle Cap

Abstract: The present invention provides a new methodology implemented in bottle caps, which enables to use relatively lesser plastic per bottle. Hence, it saves the. environment along with . .reducing the cost of production. The novel design has a dual seal system and contains a reseal mechanism for improved protection. Moreover, the invention reduces the amount of contamination in the bottles. Furthermore, the application of this innovative design is versatile as it can be used at multiple places such as cans, water bottles, soft drink bottles, toiletries and even tooth paste tube.s.

Specification

FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
The present invention is generally r~lated to an ir_nproved bottle cap that requires
less material during manufacturing, is relatively environment-friendly and costeffective.
BACKGROUNP OF THE DISCLOSURE
Conventionally, bottle caps are placed on a protruded end of the main body of a bottle
and have "screw and thread" methodology for opening and closing. Therefore, the cap
of the bottle is detachable and external to the bottle itself
However, the said conventional caps have drawbacks· in terms of usage of plastic. The
cap only serves the purpose of sealing the bottle and has no role as such in storing the
liquid inside the bottle. That means we are actwl]ly using more plastic that what is
required to store the liquid, just to make its cap. Moreover, using a bottle cap poses a
threat of contamination, especially when the costuiner is reusing tl;le bottle, because
the bottl~ neck as well as the grooves of the bottle cap are difficult to clean.
Further, this· increases the production cost of bottle manufacturing as bottle
manufacturers have to buy or produce caps for their bottles.
Thus, there is a need for an improved bottle cap that is cost-effective and requires
less material to be mar~:ufactured.
OBJECTS OF THE DISCLOSURE
.In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the prior art, the general purpose of
the present invention is to provide a_new design for bottl~ caps.
IPD DELHI 22-07-20 is· 1a:ss
..--------------------------~------- ---
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is- to provide a ~ottle cap tha.t
reduces manufacturing cost and is non detachable from the bottle's mam body.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a double seal for bo¢es.
These and other objects and advantages of the invention will be. dear from the
ensuing description.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
In light of the above objects, disclose~ is a new design for bottle caps. The new bottle
cap design of the present invention includes.
In an aspect of the present invention, a different kind of bottle cap which is non.:
detachable from the main body of the bottle cap and is easier to use.
In another aspect of the preseQ.t invention, a double seal used for the bottle cap.
These aspects together with other aspects of the present invention, along with the
I
various features of novelty that characterize the present invention, are pointed out
with particularity in the claims annexed hereto and form a part of this present
invention .. For a better understanding of the present invention, its operating
~dvantages, and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be made
to the accompanying drawing and descriptive matter in which there is illustrated an
exemplary aspect of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DISCLOSURE
Th~ exemplary embodiments described herein detail for illustrative purposes are
subject to _many variations in structure and design. It should be emphasized,
however, that the present invention is not limited to a particular bottle cap as
described. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of eqUivalents
are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but these are
intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the
spirit or scope of the present invention.
The terms "a" and "an" perein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather
denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item.
In addition, the terms "having", "comprising", "including", and variations thereof
signify the presence of a component.
The present invention provides a new design for bottle cap. This patent describes the
subject matter for patenting with specificity to meet statutory requirements. However,
the description itself is not intended to limit the scope of this patent. The principles
described herein may be embodied in many different forms.
As per the envisaged solution of the present invention, the improved bottle cap would
not be a conventional cap received on the bottle neck but an embedded one where the
cap would be embedded in the bottle itself The new cap would be a part of the upper
portion of the bottle which is later referred as support structure [100]. the improved
cap would have a small knob [102] attached to a slidable closure [106] which enables
the opening and closing of the bottle. The design of the improved bottle cap is shown
in Fig.1.
As depicted in Fig.5 the support structure or the upper portion of the bottle consist of
a first opening [108] which is covered by a detachable seal [101). This seal can be
removed from the bottle using a perforated ribbon attached lo lhe seal. Attached to the
support structure exist two opposite channels [103] or guard bands which enclose the
slidable closure. As a result, the slidable closure can only be moved within the bounds
of the opposite channels. The slidable closure comprises of a second opening [107]
whose dimensions are equivalent to the first opening. On the other end of the slidable
closure exists a knob [102] which is used to move the closure in a specific direction.
The leading end of the support structure has a hinged stopper [105] behind the knob.
The hinged stopper is a seal which is attached to the support structure by a hinge
[1 04]. This seal can be attached or detached using a perforated ribbon.
Now, in order to disperse or add contents to the bottle, we first remove the detachable
seal creating the first opening in the support structure of the bottle. Then the hinge<,i

stopper is removed creating a hole which e:t;~.ables the movement of the knob [109].
Lastly, the knob Is moved in the downward direction that makes the second opening
[ 1 07] coincide with the first [1 08]. This creates a passage for adding or dispersing the
~ontents of the bOttle. In order to close the cap, fust we must move the knob in the
upward direction which displaces the second opening into the left channel. As a result,
\ .
the first opening is covered with the slidabe closure. Then, we attach the hinged
J '
stopper to further prevent the movement of slidable closure. This opening and closjng
mechanism of the new cap is illustrated in Fig 6.
Furthermore, the slidin~ of the knob can be done in horizontal direction or the vertical
direction as per the convenience, design and application of the new bottle cap.
Moreover; the new cap reduces the cost of. production a5 compared to the
I
conventional bottle cap. It also prevents manufacturers from using the bottle cap of a
dumped bottle onto another bottle. Thus minimizing the contamination factor
associated with it.

We claim:
1. A cap for a bottle, ~e cap comprising:
a support structure configured over top portion of the bottle having a first
opening to dispense contents of the bottle, the support structure comprising .
. . .
