DESC:BRACKETLESS HANDLE FOR DOOR OF A VEHICLE

Field of the invention:

The present invention relates to door handle systems for vehicles, and more particularly to a bracket-less exterior handle of a door for the vehicles.

Background of the invention:

Generally, a door for a vehicle is typically constructed of an outer panel and an interior lining, that together form basic structure of the door. Many different methods are known for mounting an exterior handle of the door. These methods are essentially always based on a basic component in the form of a support bracket that is directly or indirectly attached to the inside of the outer panel of the door.

Mostly, in a prior art, the exterior handle is mounted on the door with large support bracket. However, such mounting of the exterior handle leads to frequent issues like sticky movement with a gripper and fitment issue with the outer panel of the door. The prior art exterior handle systems also contribute to increase in product weight and increase in product cost.

Recently, the bracket less handle have been tried which uses a gripper and cap mounted on the bracket. However, the use of gripper and cap for a bracket less handle require more space and also increases cost of manufacturing thereof.

Accordingly, there exists a need to provide an improved exterior handle of the door for the vehicles that overcomes the abovementioned drawbacks of the prior art.

Objects of the invention:

An object of the present invention is to provide low cost exterior handle of a door for a vehicle with less child parts.

Another object of the present invention is to provide ease of assembly of the handle.

Summary of the invention:

Accordingly, the present invention provides a bracketless handle (hereinafter referred as, “the handle”) for a door of a vehicle. The handle is assembled on a vehicle panel to open the door of the vehicle. The handle comprises of a small bracket and a gripper cover. The small bracket is fixed on the door of the vehicle by a screw that is screwed in a metal insert. The metal insert is assembled in with the small bracket by an ultrasonic welding process. The gripper cover includes a hollow portion having thin guiding ribs and pips configured therein. The small bracket is assembled with the gripper cover by sliding on the thin guiding ribs. The pips are arranged therein for holding the small bracket. The small bracket moves inside the gripper cover on the guiding ribs and keeps minimum surface contact for minimum friction that leads to smooth movement of the handle.

Brief description of the drawings:

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a bracket less handle for a door of a vehicle, in accordance with the present invention.

Detailed description of the embodiments:

The foregoing objects of the present invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with the prior art, techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention as described below in the preferred embodiments.

The present invention provides a bracketless handle for a door of a vehicle. The bracketless handle comprises a small bracket and a gripper cover. The bracketless handle is low cost exterior handle with less child parts and ease to assemble with the door of the vehicle.

The present invention is illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, throughout which reference numbers indicate corresponding parts in the various figures. These reference numbers are shown in bracket in the following description.

Referring to figures 1, a bracket less handle (100) for a door of a vehicle, (hereinafter referred as, “the handle (100)”) in accordance with the present invention is shown. The handle (100) is assembled on a vehicle panel to open the door of the vehicle. The handle (100) comprises a small bracket (10) and a gripper cover (20).

The gripper cover (20) includes a hollow portion having guiding ribs (50) configured therein. The small bracket (10) is capable of being assembled with the gripper cover (20) by sliding on the guiding ribs (50).

Specifically, the gripper cover (20) moves with respect to rotation axis (30) of the small bracket (10). In an embodiment, the pips (60) holds small bracket (10) and doesn't allow the small bracket (10) fall down.

The small bracket (10) is fixed on the vehicle door by the screw which is screwed in a metal insert (40). In an embodiment, the metal insert (40) is assembled in with small bracket (10) by ultrasonic welding process.

Specifically, the small bracket (10) moves inside the gripper cover (20) on thin guiding ribs (50) and keep minimum surface contact for minimum friction which leads to smooth movement of the handle.

Advantages of the invention:

1. The handle (100) of the present invention has low cost with less quality issue and increase commercial benefits.
2. The handle (100) has easy assembly process which is time saving, and has less child parts.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present invention and its practical application, and to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but such omissions and substitutions are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the scope of the claims of the present invention. ,CLAIMS:We Claim:

1. A bracketless handle (100) for a door of a vehicle, the bracketless handle (100) assembled on a vehicle panel to open the door of the vehicle, the bracketless handle (100) comprising:
a small bracket (10) fixed on the door of the vehicle by a screw that is screwed in a metal insert (40), wherein the metal insert (40) is assembled in with the small bracket (10) by an ultrasonic welding process; and
