Abstract: A normal pedometer or Calmeter are used for measuring steps and calories burnt respectively. Calorimeters that are currently available in the market are designed to measure calories burnt during walking I jogging considering Age & Weight as prime factors. In this method accuracy of calories burnt is a question mark as they do not use all parameters required to calculate and also they do not measure the calories burnt during idle time such as during sleeping, desk work, etc. Whereas in our design of cal.TR>CK, we have used W.H.O recommended Harris Benedict formula for calculating the B.M.R which ensures better accuracy of calories burnt. Accordingly one has to input the 5 basic parameters like Age, Weight, Height, Gender and Step length in the Titan cal. TR>CK to get the BMR registered in the IC. Apart from this based on various samplings, a correction formula has been programmed taking into Specific Dynamic Action (SDA) & BMR. This enable to measure the kilocalories burnt during 24-hrs cycle, which makes the product as unique. The correction formula is separate for Male and F~male population. This also takes into account the speed of walking I jogging and a minimum number of steps to be taken in 3D-second duration is a must to record the kilocalories burnt which makes the reading more authentic.
