Cambering Tool For Ics

Abstract: Cambering tool pertains to shaping, bending and cutting of pins of integrated circuits for mounting the integrated circuits on printed circuit boards. It provides the desired shape to pins of integrated circuits so that these may be fixed on printed circuit boards and any damage during vibration and change in climatic temperature may be avoided.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to cambering of integrated circuits (ICs). The
tool provides desired shape of IC for fitment on printed circuit boards and cuts
the excess length of pins of IC.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Since the integrated circuits are designed and manufactured in standard
shape and size. Hence, the fitment of IC on printed circuit board requires a
desirable shape and length of pins. The shaping and cutting tools for IC were not
available. Therefore, cambering tool for cutting and shaping of ICs was needed
to be invented.
The present invention is particularly concerned to bend and cut the pins of
ICs as per requirement for mounting on printed circuit board.
SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is to provide proper shaping
of pins of ICs for mounting on printed circuit board.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is to provide desired
length of pins of ICs for mounting on printed circuit board.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide exact gap
between IC body and board.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide proper
soldering of pins on board without producing stress in pins.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The IC bending tool is essential tool for shaping the ICs according to respective
mounting on printed circuit boards. The tool functions accurately to avoid
damage during vibration. Before designing IC bending tool, all requirements are
deeply perused.
The tool consists of following parts
The tool mainly consists of two blocks
1. Lower Block
2. Upper Block
The IC is kept on lower block and upper block is pressed and the IC is shaped
according to requirement of mounting.
The tool consists of following parts,
1. Die
Die is the base of tool and comes in lower block. The die has cut grooves
according to the shape of IC. The integrated circuits are placed at die for
shaping. The die is made of hard material like EN-8 so that during application of
pressure while bending IC, the dimensions of die may not change.

2. Guide Pillar
Guide pillars are fixed in two holes of die. They are meant for motion of upper
block. The upper block is pressed and it moves though guide pillars and the IC
pins are bent. Guide pillars are also made of hard material like EN-8.
3. Stripper Block
Stripper block is meant to bend the pins of integrated circuits. The stripper block
is part of upper block and it is mounted with a compressed spring.
4. Stripper Bolt
This is part of upper block and meant to hold the stripper block with punch. This
is made of hard material like EN-8.
5. Cheesed Head Screw
This screw is used to fit stripper block with stripper bolt and compressed spring.
The screw is standard.
6. Comp. Spring:
This spring is made of soft material. It gives flexibility adjustment to stripper block
over die grooves.
7. Punch:
Punch is base of upper block and it consists of two holes. It is fitted over two
guide pillars which are already mounted on lower block. The punch is made of
hard material like EN-8.
8. Comp. Spring:
These springs are made of soft material. These are placed over guide pillars to
provide smooth motion of upper block.
9. Cover Plate
This is part of upper block. It provides strength and stability to stripper bolt to
avoid any deviation during functioning. This is made of hard material.

10. Screw :
The screws are meant to fix the cover plate on punch.
The tool is assembled on die. Two guide pillars are mounted on die. Stripper
Block, stripper bolt and cover plate are mounted on Punch of upper block. The
compressed springs are fitted over guide pillars. One compressed spring no. 6 is
placed between stripper block and cover plate.
Further, upper block is mounted on Lower Block through guide pillars and
compressed springs. The ICs are shaped when upper block is pressed over
lower block.

Accordingly, the description of the present invention is to be considered as illustrative only and is for the purpose of teaching those skilled in the art of the best mode of carrying out the invention. The details may be varied substantially without departing from the spirit of the invention, and exclusive use of all modifications which are within the scope of the appended claims is reserved. We Claim
1. The cambering tool comprising a spring fit mechanism of two block using guide pillars.
2. The cambering tool of claim 1 further comprising the fitment of stripper block, stripper bolt and compressed spring at cover plate.
3. The cambering tool of claim 1 & 2, wherein the two blocks are assembled and disassembled without using any fastener.
4. The cambering tool of claim 1 where in, the material for manufacturing punch which is rust free and provides easy demagnetization
5. The cambering tool of claim 1 where in, the functioning of tools which do not require any pressing tool for operation. ,TagSPECI:As per Annexure-II
