1.0 Technical Field
This invention relates to automotive jacks used for lifting vehicles and more particularly to a light weight, compact jack which is inexpensive to manufacture, easy to operate.
The present disclosure relates to a universal joint mechanism applied to a car jack that makes its operation very easy and user friendly.

2.0 Background
Various types of car jack have been developed in the automotive industry. They provide a simple, efficient method of lifting car and other automotive in a designated manner for changing its wheel. Their simple construction and efficient performance, makes the jack to be suitable for storage in all light vehicle, three wheeler, car and SUV.

Existing scissor jacks have been developed over the time and various design features are added to address the requirement of compactness, safety and abnormal noise in storage. It consists of a combination of links, pins and a lead screw.
Although these products have provided satisfactory service in the past when lifting load capacity was the only requirement and operated by male in the society.
Moreover operation of these jacks is uncomfortable due to ergonomic position at the time of operation. Most of the jacks are operated by operator in seating condition with extension bar. It is very uncomfortable to rotate the extension bar in stable seating condition that requires them to take their knee support for further operation. Its usage is injurious for people having back problem. As well as it is safety critical at the time operation. Operator has no idea about the traffic movement due to his seating posture.

Hydraulic and electric jacks are well known in the industry. Said jacks have power source to operate the same. These kinds of jacks are well accepted in commercial application, where storage is not required and usage is very high.

Moreover, these kinds of car jack fail to gain widespread acceptance either because of their relatively high cost, compactness or complex design.

Patent no US 5603486A is about unintended lowering of car jack, it focused mainly on the safety, Patent no US 5603486 describe the usages of hydraulic power for operation; its focus was on ease of usage. US 4055329 A used permanent attachment with car, again ease in usage. US 1475864 patent give focus on the strength of the car jack. US 5176362 patent is about it smooth functioning as well as about reduction of rattling sound during storage of the component.
Despite the efforts made by prior inventors, there continues to be a need for a jack that is convenient in usages and convenient in storage at the same time be low cost and compact.

3.0 Summary of Invention
To obviate the aforesaid drawback, the present disclosure seeks to overcome drawbacks of car jack.

Therefore, it is an object of the present disclosure to develop a convenient car jack with detachable or integrated universal joint mechanism having simple construction The new mechanism give freedom to operator for various angle operation starting from horizontal (as used in conventional design) to vertical direction. Universal joint transfer the relative rotation of extension bar to screw bar of car jack that move the link arms up & down and lift the automotive body by a desired amount relative to ground.

4.0 Brief description of the accompanying drawings:

The invention, together with its objects and advantages thereof may be best understood by reference to the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference numerals identify substantially like elements in the several figures and in which:
Figure 1 shows car jack with integrated universal joint.

Figure 2 shows modified Universal joint suitable for jack application.

Figure 3 shows operating action for car jack for opening.

Figure 4. Shows operating action for car jack for closing.

Figure 5 shows the car jack in close condition

5.0 Detailed description of the invention

For the purpose of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings and specific language will be used to describe the same. It will nevertheless be understood that no limitation of the scope of the disclosure is thereby intended, such alterations and further modifications in the illustrated bag, and such further applications of the principles of the disclosure as illustrated therein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the disclosure relates.
The car jack with universal joint of the present disclosure provides a proper ergonomic position in the jack operation that helps in easy operation and low manufacturing cost at the same time overall design is as compact as existing one.

5.1 Figure 1 shows a new scissor car jack and its components. The scissor jack has 16 components that provide overall lifting of car body .Part 101 placed on the ground and link arm 102,103,104 &105 are operated that moved up and down at the same time Part ID 109 used to support the car body. The lifting of car body is achieved with the help of screw bar 106 rotations. Screw bar has other component like screw stopper 107 to fix the movement, 108 collar bearing for smooth function. Part ID 110 Universal joint is used as interlink between extension bar and car jack.

5.2 Figure 2 shows universal joint mechanism description, it contains 5 parts and 2 design features. Part ID 201 Inside part U-shaped member that attached with screw bar through hole 202, Part ID 205 Outside part U-shaped member that provide hole -204 for extension bar. Part ID 206 cross bar to join the Part ID 201 & 205.

5.3 Figure 3 shows the jack opening operation. It is feasible to operate the car jack in various positions. Part ID 205 can be placed at different angle with respect to ground.
Clock wise rotation of extension bar is transfer to Part ID 106 screw bar through universal joint Part ID 110. Rotation of screw bar converts the circular motion into linear motions of links. Movement of links 102 to 105 lifts the automotive body for wheel repair.

5.4 Figure 4
Shows, the closing operation of car jack. The anti-clock wise rotation of extension bar is transfer to Part ID 106 screw bar through universal joint Part ID 110. Rotation of screw bar converts the circular motion into linear motions of links. Movement of links 102 to 105 lowers the car body after wheel repair.

The car jack with detachable or integrated universal joint mechanism of the present disclosure can be used for all light vehicles.

CLAIMS:1. A joint mechanism consisting of two U-shaped members connected together through a cross bar, with
- the first U-shaped member connected to a connecting rod through a pin joint passing through the two long sides of the member,
- the second U-shaped member, also connected to the cross bar through a pin passing through its two long sides, such that
- the axis of the two pin joints are at right angles to one another,
- the first U-shaped member is connected to the screw bar of the car-jack through its middle side
- the second U-shaped member has two holes in its two long sides so as to insert a rotating member
- Shape and end radius for both U-shaped member
2. The Joint mechanism as in Claim 1, with the second U-shaped member being accessible to loose bar( extension bar) and flexible for any angle from 0 deg to + 75 degree .
3. Scissor type car jack along with detachable or integrated universal joint as claimed in 1&2 .
4. Scissor type car jack operation by operator in standing position.
