Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
The current invention describes a carrier for transporting a two-wheeler such as motorcycles.
BACKGROUND
In larger industrial areas and larger apartment complex, there are lifts provided for transportation of larger and wider articles, for example, service lifts in larger apartments are provided for carrying the goods from one level to other. But in smaller buildings, such lifts are expensive and space consuming. Thus, in smaller and compact buildings, there are only passenger lifts provided which are narrower than the service lifts. This creates a problem in transporting longer objects. Let us take for example an electric two-wheeler that needs to be taken to home for charging overnight. In order to do so, the vehicle need to me shifted or transferred to the desired level. It is not difficult to transfer a two-wheeler in narrower spaces such as passenger-only lifts as two-wheelers are longer than conventional objects.
OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT DISCLOSURE
It is an objective of the current invention to enable transferring two-wheelers in narrower spaces.
SUMMARY
The current invention describes a portable carrier that enables transportation of two-wheelers in narrower spaces. The carries comprises of a fixed vertical wall, a fixed horizontal wall, a translating member and an axle member. The fixed vertical wall comprises of a vertical slot formed between two vertical columns. The fixed horizontal wall comprises of a horizontal slot formed between two horizontal bars. The translating member comprises of a base plate that is configured to slide upwards and downwards in the vertical slot of the fixed vertical wall. The translating member further comprises of a bar that is fixed onto the base plate on one end. The bar has a through hole on the other end. The bar is placed substantially perpendicular to the base plate. The hole is configured to overlap co-axially with the axis of a front wheel of a two-wheeler. The axle member is insertable into the hole of the bar in the direction of axis of the front wheel of a two-wheeler. This axle member is configured to support the translating member as well as the axle of the front wheel of the two-wheeler. Upon insertion of the axle member into the hole of the bar through the axle of the front wheel of the two-wheeler, while the translating member is moved upwards in the vertical slot of the fixed wall, the front wheel of the two-wheeler moves vertically upwards and the rear wheel of the two-wheeler moves in the horizontal direction along the horizontal slot of the fixed horizontal wall, towards the fixed vertical wall such that the front wheel of the two-wheeler is at a more height than the rear wheel of the two-wheeler.
As per the first embodiment of the current invention, upon insertion of the axle member into the hole of the bar through the axle of the front wheel of the two-wheeler, while the translating member is moved downwards in the vertical slot of the fixed wall, the front wheel of the two-wheeler moves vertically downwards and the rear wheel of the two-wheeler moves in the horizontal direction along the horizontal slot of the fixed horizontal wall, away from the fixed vertical wall such that the front wheel of the two-wheeler is at the same height as the rear wheel of the two-wheeler.
As per the second embodiment of the current invention, the length of the horizontal slot is half the length of the vertical slot.
As per the third embodiment of the current invention, the fixed vertical wall, the fixed horizontal wall, the translating member and the axle member are made up of stainless steel.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT DISCLOSURE
As it can be easily comprehended by a person skilled in the art, a two-wheeler can be easily transferred in a narrow space, such as a passenger lift with less width, by tilting it using the carrier and then the carrier along with the two-wheeler in a vertical orientation can be fitted onto this narrow space, such as an 8- passenger lift. This construction is simple and can even be extended to carry larger and longer articles in a similar manner. Moreover, Since the front wheel axle is held in the rig, the requirement of the removal of any other parts of the motorcycle is taken away. It also ensures that the body panels of the motorcycle are not damaged in any way when it is being moved.
