Abstract: A method for detecting an incoming call on a cell phone is described. The method comprises of selecting signals within a range of frequencies, amplifying the selected signals, filtering the amplified signals, comparing the filtered signal to a predetermined threshold voltage, generating an output signal based on the comparison, and generating an indication based on the output signal. The indication thus generated indicates an incoming call on the cell phone. Further, a detecting device, implementing the above method is described. The detecting device comprises a signal detection module and an indication module. The signal detection module is comprised of an antenna to receive an RF signal, a frequency selection module, an amplification module, a filtering module, and a comparator coupled to the filtering module. The operation of the signal detection module generates a voltage signal which causes the indication module to generate an audio/visual indication.
