Chalk Duster Cleaner

Abstract: This invention is called as Chalk Duster Cleaner. Blackboards and chalks are used extensively in India. The dusters which are used to clean the blackboards need to be dusted often. However, no gadget or device exists to clean the duster which necessitates dusting of the duster by hitting it against walls next to the board. This leads to the scattering of chalk dust in the classroom resulting in pollution. The invention, Chalk Duster Cleaner is a gadget which provides an effective way to clean the duster. Moreover, the dust generated with the traditional way of dusting a duster is also avoided. Chalk Duster Cleaner is consists of a rectangular box, containing motor and a drawer type arrangement, to insert the duster which is to be cleaned. The shaft of motor is extended and is attached with thick rubber strips. When the motor is turned on these rubber strips rotate and dust the duster inside the box. Moreover, an exhaust is provided to suck out the dust and to collect it.

Specification

Background to the invention:
Blackboards and chalks are used extensively in India. The dusters which are used to clean the blackboards need to be dusted often. However, no gadget or device exists to clean the duster which necessitates dusting of the duster by hitting it against walls next to the board. This leads to the scattering of chalk dust in the classroom resulting in pollution.
The invention, Chalk Duster Cleaner is a gadget which provides an effective way to clean the duster. Moreover, the dust generated with the traditional way of dusting a duster is also avoided.
Preamble to the description: The Following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which is to be performed. (COMPLETE)
Description of the preferred embodiment:
As shown in figure, the Chalk Duster Cleaner is consists of a rectangular box (1) approximately 25 cm in length 21 in width and 19 cm in height like in shape. The rectangular box has an open able lid (7). A shaft (2) attached to a stepper motor runs through this box along the length of the box. High density rubber strips approx. 8 cm in length and 2-3cm in width are attached to the shaft perpendicular to the shaft. A movable tray in which the duster is to be placed is provided at the floor of the box parallel to the shaft. The tray has a handle (4) which is used to push in or pull out the tray after the duster is placed in the tray for cleaning or to take the duster out after it is dusted. A barrier (5) is placed to restrict the movement of the tray. An exhaust fan (6) is fitted on the wall of the

rectangular box on the opposite side of the wall in which the tray is placed. The exhaust fan opens into collection chamber provided adjacent to the rectangular box (1). The power for motor and the exhaust fan is provided by an adapter. Adapter's output is 12volts and 2ampers.
Working: The tray is pulled out using the handle and the duster to be dusted is placed inside the tray such that the matted portion of the duster which contains the dust to be removed faces upwards. The tray is then pushed into the rectangular box using the handle. The motor is switched on and the rubber strips attached to the shaft hit the matted portion repeatedly resulting in the dusting of the matted portion of the duster. The dust particles of the chalk which are dusted off by the rubber strips hitting on the matting are sucked by the exhaust fan which becomes operational along with the motor. The dust particles sucked out by the exhaust fan are collected in the chamber which are then disposed off or recycled.

Claims: What is claimed is
1. A Chalk Duster Cleaner such that it consists of a rectangular box (1) approximately 25 cm in length 21 cm in width and 19 cm in height like in shape having a lid in which a shaft attached to a stepper motor runs through this box along the length of the box with high density rubber strips approx. 8 cm in length and 2-3cm in width attached to the shaft perpendicular to the shaft.
2. A Chalk Duster Cleaner as claimed in Claim 1 which consists of a movable tray in which the duster is to be placed is provided at the floor of the box parallel to the shaft such that the said tray has a handle which is used to push in or pull out the tray after the duster is placed in the tray for cleaning or to take the duster out after it is dusted.
3. A Chalk Duster Cleaner as claimed in Claim 1 such that the barrier is placed to restrict the movement of the tray.

4. A Chalk Duster Cleaner as claimed in Claim 1 such that an exhaust fan is fitted on the wall of the rectangular box on the opposite side of the wall in which the tray is placed and the exhaust fan opens into chamber provided adjacent to the rectangular box.
5. A Chalk Duster Cleaner substantially as herein described and illustrated in the figures of the accompanying drawings.
