Abstract: Methods for computing charges for a call in a communication network are described herein. In one implementation the method includes ascertaining whether a call active state of a call in a time slice of the call is held. Based on the ascertaining a hold duration for the time slice may be determined and an actual interaction duration for the call based on the hold duration may be computed. Further a first call duration parameter indicative of the interaction duration of the call may be provided. Additionally charges for the call are computed based in part on a discounted charge schedule.
