Specification

DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:

[001] The present invention relates to a cooker hood with an improved oil collector tray and a method of mounting the tray to the cooker hood.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:

[002] The kitchen chimney also known as cooker hood or exhaust hood or extractor hood is used to suck the smoke & oil particles & emits the smoke outside of kitchen & collect the oil in tray with the help of inbuilt heat auto clean feature. The hoods generally have oil collector mounted with screws or through mechanical locks or guides provided in the main body. In existing chimneys with the use of heat auto clean function the oil accumulates in oil collector tray. The Oil collector needs to be cleaned regularly for which the user has to remove the oil collector every time. This is done either using some tool or physically unlocking the locks and taking out of the guide. The major disadvantages of above-mentioned method is that the fitment gets loose over a period of time due to frequent opening & closing of tray, unavailability of tools (screw driver) at home for opening the screws, misplacement of hardware and the fitment not being too customer friendly at times.

[003] The existing kitchen chimneys do not have a technique for removing the oil collector tray very easily, safely and quickly and fixing it back thus making it inconvenient for the user to clean the tray at regular intervals of time. The user has to expend some effort in attaching this tray to the main body of the chimney.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:

[004] The objective of the present invention is to design a oil collector tray in a kitchen chimney capable of being removed easily and is mounted with magnets.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:

[005] The present invention relates to a cooker hood with an improved oil collector tray and a method of mounting the tray to the cooker hood.

[006] According to an embodiment of the present invention, there is provided an exhaust hood with an improved oil collector tray that is removed and assembled in the hood by magnetic means. The oil collector tray can be safely and easily removed and requires minimum interaction on the part of the user. This makes the assembly of the tray extremely user friendly each time. Also, the user can maintain hygiene in the kitchen by pulling out the oil collector tray frequently and cleaning it at regular intervals of time.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:

[007] The other objects, features and advantages will occur to those skilled in the art from the following description of the preferred embodiment and the accompanying drawings.

[008] Fig. 1 depicts the image of the exhaust hood with an oil collector tray attached to the main body of the hood.

[009] Fig. 2 depicts the image of the exhaust hood with an oil collector tray separated from the main body of the hood

DESCRIPTION

[010] According to preferred embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 1 and 2 shows the exhaust hood which means a fume extraction device which is preferably used in a kitchen for extracting and cleaning haze and vapor. Moreover, the cooker hood includes a housing which, depending on the form of construction of the cooker hood, can also be described as a chimney, in which a fan is mounted. Due to the fan, which can also be termed a blower, air is sucked into the housing and can be output from the cooker hood via an air outlet. The suction capacity of the hood to release the exhaust gases is in the range of 500cmh to 2000cmh. Different types of filters can be used such as baffle filters, cassette filters or it can be filter less. The controlling system comprises of manually operated switches or electronic assisted that is PCB controlled. Air suction mode can be through fan blade or tangential blower for forced ventilation. Extractor hoods can be made from a variety of materials, including: stainless steel, copper, bronze, nickel silver, zinc, tempered glass, wood, aluminum, brass, heat-resistant plastics. The main features of the cooker hood include auto clean, oil level indicator, remote control that can be optional. The variants of kitchen chimney are Wall Mounted Chimney, Decorative chimney or Island Chimney. The main components of hood are motor, blower, blower housing, body, glass, filter, oil collector tray, switches or PCB, duct, lights and mains cord.

[011] The heat auto clean function of the hood accumulates the oil in the oil collector tray which needs to cleaned regularly. In order to detach the oil collector tray easily and safely, it is attached with the main body of the hood using magnetic means. The magnetic means can be provided on the main body or on the oil collector tray. As an exemplary embodiment, the magnetic means are provided on the main body of the hood with grooves/markings to ensure proper mounting location of the oil collector tray. The magnetic means can be for example a magnet or a magnetic tape that retains the oil collector tray on the main body of the exhaust hood. The oil collector can be made of SS (Special Grade), MS or Plastic to attract the magnet fixed on main body bottom.

[012] The foregoing description will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
