Specification

The present invention relates, to spinning machines. More particularly the present invention relates to clearer rollers provided to clean the drafting rollers of the spinning machines.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In ring spinning machines, the drafting zone helps to thin down the roving and make it as a strand of fibres to form a yarn by twisting. The roving is drawn by passing it through a drawing head comprising a series of fluted bottom rollers, usually three in number, the said rollers co-operating with top pressure rollers, those top rollers are being covered with rubber material, and being provided with textile material-covered clearer rollers serving to clean them. During the drawing operation, the micro fibres and some of the lengthy fibres become detached from the roving and remain attached to the top drafting rollers, resulting in the accumulation of lumps and said fibrous material clinging to the roller separates again from the roller and passes into the yarn result in intolerable defects in the yarn. It is known that the waste fibres can be removed from the drafting arrangement rollers by clearer rollers. The clearer rollers are entrained by the working rollers of the drafting arrangement by friction and comprise a clearer coating. The clearer coating should be cleaned intermittently or continuously. Otherwise, the accumulation of short fibres form a layer of fibres over the surface of the clearer rollers and affect the smooth rotation and

Earlier, the clearer rollers are made up of wooden rollers covered with textile material for example, non-woven cloth or flocked fibres. Japanese patent JPH0978365 describes about the clearer roller with flocking material. The cylindrical part was made up of crushed wood and its circumferential surface of the body is covered with nylon micro flocking fibres. Later, the wooden material is replaced with polymer material like PVC or Nylon to reduce the production. cost and to minimize the power consumption of spinning machines.
■ Said clearer rollers are cleaned in a predetermined interval for example once in a shift or day. The clearers rollers in the spinning machines are removed manually and cleaned by a machine provided with a brush roller driven by motor. Chinese patent CN201933241 discloses an automatic clearer roller cleaning machine for spinning machines. In this machine, the clearer rollers have been collected manually and put into the cleaning machine. This cleaning system requires at least 8 working persons for cleaning the rollers in spinning workshop which is disadvantageous. Also, the clearer rollers are entrained by the brush roller while cleaning which may not be suitable for proper cleaning and results in reduction of flocked fibres life.
The present invention provides an improved clearer roller for effectively cleaning the clearer rollers with reduced man power and time which would provide solution for the above-mentioned problems as explained in the foregoing description.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a clearer roller for use in textile spinning applications.

Accordingly, it should be apparent to those skilled in the art that the following description of exemplary embodiments of the present invention are provided for illustration purpose only and not for the purpose of limiting the invention as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.

Fig - 1 of the drawings shows a spinning clearer roller in accordance with the existing art. The clearer roller (1) is made up of wooden or plastic body (2) and its circumferential surface is covered with flocked fibres cloth (3). The either sides of the clearer roller (1) consists a side cover (4) and a pin (5). The drafting arrangement consists top arms to hold the upper drafting rollers. The front portion of the top arm consists a mount with a slot. Said clearer rollers are rotatably mounted on the top arm mounts and entrained by the top rollers.
FIG - 2 and 4 of the drawings is a perspective view of a spinning clearer roller in accordance with the present invention. Referring more specifically to Fig -2, the clearer roller (1) consists a main body (2) is made up of polymer material and its circumferential surface is covered with flocked fibres cloth (3). The either sides of the clearer roller (1) consists a driving means (14) for example gear. The side cover (14) is designed as a gear and is made up of either Nylon, PTFE or any other polymer material. The diameter of said driving means (14) shall be preferably 30.0 to 60.0 mm.
Alternatively, the pin (5) shown in Fig -1 can be converted as driving means as shown in Fig - 4. As another embodiment of the present invention in the clearer roller (1), the pin (5) is converted as driving means (24) for example gear. Said pin (24) is designed as a gear and is made up of polymer material for example, Nylon, PTFE, ABS or any other equivalent. The diameter of said driving means

(24) shall be 5.0 to 10.0 mm. The drive means (14, 24) shall be mounted as detachable device so that it can be replaced easily whenever required.
Fig - 3 and 5 of the drawings describes the driving arrangement in accordance with the main aspect of the present invention. An external driving means for example motor (not shown) is provided to drive the clearer roller. At least one gear (1) is rotatably mounted with the drive motor. Said gear (15, 25) is operably connected with the drive means (14, 24) of the clearer roller. When the motor runs, it drives the gear (15, 25) so that the gear is connected with the motor drives the clearer roller.
Fig - 6 of the drawings describes the driving arrangement (31) to clean the clearer rollers. Said driving arrangement consists a lever shaft (32), driving means (15), suction pipe (36) and a waste collection box (37). Said lever (32) is mounted on a drive shaft (33) and said drive shaft oscillates preferably in To and Fro' motion. The upper portion of the lever (32) consists a clamp (34) and said clamp is movably mounted on the lever through the pin (35). The cleaning portion of the driving arrangement consists a suction pipe (36) and said suction pipe is mounted in way to collect the micro fibres and dust accumulated in the clearer roller. The bottom part of the suction pipe is connected with the waste collection box (37). A gear wheel (38) is mounted near the mouth portion of the suction pipe. Said gear wheel shall be driven by any driving means (not shown) preferably a motor.

The clamp (34) catches the clearer roller from drafting unit of the spinning machine and places near the suction pipe (36). The gears (14, 24) of the clearer roller (1) is placed over the gear (38). When the gear (38) is rotated by the drive motor, it will drive the clearer roller (1) and thereby the micro dusts and fibres accumulated on the surface of the clearer roller is removed through suction. Once the roller is cleaned, the lever (32) with clamp (35) keeps the clearer roller in its position.
The present invention claims various advantages. In the existing art, the clearer rollers are driven by friction with surface of brush rollers during cleaning. This method results in improper cleaning, roller struck-up and damages of clearer clothes. The present invention eliminates the above disadvantages by providing a positive external drive to the clearer rollers. Apart from the above, the speed of the clearer rollers can be varied. The time required to be cleaned or the rollers in contact with brush rollers can be controlled. The clearer roller can be rotated in either direction depending upon the requirement. Said driving means are mounted as detachable so that it can be replaced whenever required.
