Abstract: The present subject matter relates to a skid carrier (110) for supporting an article (102) during a painting process. In accordance with the present subject matter, the skid carrier (110) comprises a carrier frame (102) and a non-cohesive substance coated on entire surface of the carrier frame (102). The non-cohesive substance reduces the extent of cohesion of the paint and the surface of the skid carrier (110). The non-cohesive substance is electrostatically dissipating and has surface energy between 17-21 mN/m.
CLIAMS:1. A skid carrier (110) for supporting an article (102) during a painting process, wherein the skid carrier (110) comprising:
a carrier frame (202) for mounting an article (102) to be applied with paint; and
a non-cohesive substance coated on entire surface of the skid carrier (110) to reduce the extent of cohesion of the paint to the surface of the skid carrier (110), wherein the non-cohesive substance is electrostatically dissipating and has surface energy between 17-21 mN/m.
2. The skid carrier (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the carrier frame (202) is a vehicle body carrier frame.
3. The skid carrier (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the non-cohesive substance has a surface resistivity of less than 106 M?/square.
4. The skid carrier (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the non-cohesive substance has thickness in a range of about 30 microns to 40 microns.
5. The skid carrier (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the non-cohesive substance comprises a fluoropolymer.
6. The skid carrier (110) as claimed in claim 5, wherein the fluoropolymer is selected from a group consisting of polytetrafluoropolyethelene and polyperfluoroalkoxy.
7. The skid carrier (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the skid carrier (110) is pre-treated, wherein the pre-treatment includes coating the skid carrier (110) with the non-cohesive substance by one of spraying and dipping.
