3, PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
This invention - coconut tree climbing machine relates to a machine to climb up coconut trees for plucking coconuts and cleaning the top of the coconut trees.
The following complete specification particularly describes the nature of this invention and the manner to which it is to be performed . The invention in general relates to devices which provides coconut tree climbing machine
4 DESCRIPTION
This invention relates to improvement in device for climbing the coconut trees. Many persons and Coconut farmers find difficulty in harvesting ripe coconut and tender ones. Usually farmers depend upon person to climb up the trees and to pluck the coconut and to clean the tree top. These persons now ask for higher wages. These persons are not always available. But nowadays security of such person and accidents forced them to experiment different machine.
Many proposals are provided to overcome this problem. But all these proposals requires a great manual strength to climb up the coconut trees. Hence it make more challenging in climbing. All these proposals are not provide easiness and safety . It makes the person who climbs more fatigue. When these machine struck while climbing it requires manual efforts to overcome the problems. Sometimes the person may kept for long at the top of the tree. Hence all these proposal are not fully satisfactory to farmers, even the latest model is not fully effective, and could not provide easiness and safety .Hence these farmers are in now great turmoil.
Considering the gravity of the above stated condition of coconut farmers. All these problems are overcome by the present invention which provides easiness and safety. This invention proposes a machine for climbing up the coconut trees to pluck the ripe coconuts and clean the tree top . So the farmers no need to rely on the coconut climbing persons
This invention also proposes a machine or device, as afore said which can be readily use by fastening to and unfastening from a tree by even skilled or unskilled persons
Considering the fact the farmers find it hard to harvest the ripe coconut and tender coconut without these coconut climbing persons. But this machine will help the farmers to climb up the tree and also will promote the business of farmers by increasing the harvesting rate by using this invention
The machine invented is proposed herein can conveniently be fitted to the tree to climb up and can be retained after plucking the coconut and cleaning the tree top for thereafter this machine can be fitted to the next tree for the same purpose or can be retained for the next time
Various other features of this invention and its concomitant advantages will be apparent from the description thereof given here under.
According to this invention, a machine for climbing up coconut trees or else other palm trees to pluck the coconut and to clean the tree top, comprises wheel, and folding type machine hands, which will help to positioning the machine firmly on the trunk. These wheels with drive and the machine hands together helps to encircle the machine to tree trunk. An engine, gear box, and the worm and pinion mechanism of springs will helps to move the device up with a man and after plucking the coconut, the machine can lower, even with one or two bunch of coconut on the machine
This invention will now be described in further details by referring to the accompanying drawings which illustrates, by way of example, one of the possible embodiments thereof and wherein
WORKING OF MACHlNE
Fig A to D Illustrates the embodiment in plan.
Fig E Illustrates the embodiment of Rubber wheel of the machine.
The embodiment comprises wheel with drivers, folding type machine hands, engine and gear box, all these helps to encircling the tree and there on to climb up the tree trunk, just to provide facilities to pluck the coconuts .
The embodiment comprises three wheels (Figure A -1, 2, 3 ) which can roll over the ground . These wheels help to move the machine anywhere. The machine also has six rubber wheels with axils on either side of which 4 rubber wheels (Figure A - 4,5,6,7 ) are fixed to the body of the machine. The remaining 2 rubber wheel are portable (Figure E - 1, 2).A11 these wheels are with drives. The embodiment has also 2 folding type machine hands (Figure B -1) which helps to encircle the tree trunk. This machine hands are provided with equalizer (Figure C-1) mechanism, hence when we stretch or fold one hand it reflects on the other too. So both hands work together ie. hands one not independent in movement.
Roll on the machine towards the desired coconut tree as the machine hands are in stretched position. The hands comes over on either side of the tree. Now the 4 fixed rubber wheels touches the tree. Place the 2 portable rubber wheels at the lock (Figure B-2) of the machine hands. Now the axil of this rubber wheel comes in drive through gear wheel (Figure E -3) and chain and sprocket(Figure B-3). This folding hands is now connected to the spring set, (Figure B-4) the other side of the spring set is now connected to worm and pinion (Figure B-5, 6) mechanism by folding connector (Figure B-7). If one worm is with 60 teeth, pinion has to rotate 60 times, then only worm completes one rotation. So 1/60 of the strength used to tighten the spring set is required to rotate pinion
When the pinion turns by pinion handle (Figure B-8) the machine hands come to closer and closer to encircle the tree trunk by tightening the spring. So the machine is ready to move up with all these 6 wheels with drive. All the wheels have one spare drives too. So if one drive fails or damage the spare drive can be used to move down safely.
A petrol-Kerosene engine ( self started/Pulling type) (Figure D -1) is used in this device when the engine drive comes to a reverse/forward gear box (Figure C-2) to turn the drive comes to axil No: 1 (Figure A-8) of rubber wheel through worm and pinion mechanism, (Figure C-3, 4) and then to axil No:2 (Figure A-9) and axil No: 3 (Figure E -4) through chain and sprocket.
So the 4 rubber wheels is on the drive which passes to joint of the machine hands and then to the axil and to gear wheel through chain and sprocket. Now all the axil are ready to rotate. All these drives and the machine hands with spring set prevents any slip of machine however the circumference of the tree.
Now start the engine. Sitting on the seat of machine (Figure C-5),then turn the gear to forward, press the pedal (Figu re D -2) by leg . Now the machine and engine is connected and ready to move up When the machine reach at the suitable height retain the leg from the pedal. Now the connection between engine and machine releases. But the machine never comes down. The shaft connecting the gear box on pinion turns, when the pinion stops, the worm also stops. If the worm has 60 teeth, pinion has to turn 60 turns ,so worm has the capacity to hold the 60 times of the load placed on pinion
The safety belt helps the person to stand easily and safely on the platform (Figure D - 4) at the top. The seat of the machine is connected to a hook near the platform by chain (Figure D - 3) on either side .Hence when the person sits on the seat the weight helps the machine to hold the tree trunk more firmly. After plucking coconuts, and cleaning the tree top can come down safely by removing safety belt and by placing reverse gear and the press the pedals. Pressing the pedal connects the engine and machine again. Now the machine begins to move down. When the machine reaches at the bottom, the machine stops working by taking of the leg from the pedal, retaining our feet from the pedal the connection between engine and machine stops. Now turning the pinion the machine hands stretch and portable rubber wheel can be retained and the machine can take away from the tree trunk and ready to use on the next tree.
Even when the machine stops working at the top, the machine can manually operate to lower down the one end of the shaft of gear box is connected to pinion and a emergency handle (Figure C- 6) to the other side. So by turning this handle the machine can easily bring down in emergency or if engine fails.
This invention can also used to climb trees such as Date palms, and even lower the machine with one or two bunch of Dates
