Abstract: ABSTRACT “CODING DEVICE AND METHOD, DECODING DEVICE AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM” The present technology relates to a decoding apparatus, a decoding method, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable instructions causing the apparatus to execute operations. The decoding apparatus comprises an acquisition section (61) configured to acquire both encoded audio data obtained by encoding an audio signal of an audio object in a frame of a predetermined time segment and a plurality of metadata for the frame, a decoding section (63) configured to decode the encoded audio data and to provide the resulting audio signal of the audio object in the frame of a predetermined time segment, a rendering section (66) configured to perform rendering using VBAP (Vector Base Amplitude Panning) based on the audio signal obtained by the decoding and on the metadata, wherein each of the plurality of metadata is respective metadata for each of multiple samples in the frame of the audio signal. Ref. Fig. 1
1. A decoding apparatus comprising: an acquisition section (61) configured to acquire both encoded audio data obtained by encoding an audio signal of an audio object in a frame of a predetermined time segment and a plurality of metadata for the frame; a decoding section (63) configured to decode the encoded audio data and to provide the resulting audio signal of the audio object in the frame of a predetermined time segment; a rendering section (66) configured to perform rendering using VBAP (Vector Base Amplitude Panning) based on the audio signal obtained by the decoding and on the metadata; wherein each of the plurality of metadata is respective metadata for each of multiple samples in the frame of the audio signal.
2. A decoding method comprising: acquiring, performed by the acquisition section (61), both encoded audio data obtained by encoding an audio signal of an audio object in a frame of a predetermined time segment and a plurality of metadata for the frame; decoding, performed by the decoding section (63), the encoded audio data and providing the resulting audio signal of the audio object in the frame of a predetermined time segment; performing, performed by the rendering section (66), rendering using VBAP (Vector Base Amplitude Panning) based on the audio signal obtained by the decoding and on the metadata; wherein each of the plurality of metadata is respective metadata for each of multiple samples in the frame of the audio signal.
3. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable instructions stored thereon, causes the apparatus to execute operations, the operations comprising: acquiring, performed by the acquisition section (61), both encoded audio data obtained by encoding an audio signal of an audio object in a frame of a predetermined time segment and a plurality of metadata for the frame; decoding, performed by the decoding section (63), the encoded audio data and providing the resulting audio signal of the audio object in the frame of a predetermined time segment; performing, performed by the rendering section (66), rendering using VBAP (Vector Base Amplitude Panning) based on the audio signal obtained by the decoding and on the metadata; wherein each of the plurality of metadata is respective metadata for each of multiple samples in the frame of the audio signal.
