Abstract: Present invention relates to the "Combi Treat Technology" designed for the treatment of liquid waste commonly known as Sewage or Effluent. More particularly it relates to biological actions in one basin for treatment of sludge out of sewage and similar action in other connected basin for the counter part of sewage (other than sludge). The fixed launder method [Upflow Sequential Batch Reactor (USBR hereinafter)] (Patent pending) is used for removal of treated waste water during Sewage Treatment and the sludge, which will be treated anaerobically, is disposed off separately after separating out methane gas from the same. The methane gas is very good source of bioenergy. Similarly, due to removal of treated waste from the fixed launder and from the top of the unit a possibility of hydro electricity generation is provided.

The following specification describes the invention.
COMPLETE
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of invention:
Present invention relates to the "Combi Treat Technology" designed for the treatment of liquid waste commonly known as Sewage or Effluent.
Background & the Prior art of present invention:
There are many methods of Sewage Treatment which can be bifurcated in two main groups
a) Aerobic Treatment and
b) Anaerobic Treatment
in the existing system of decanting, the decanters are required to move continuously depending on the cycle time in up and down direction by mechanicai means.
Deficiencies of prior art:
a) In existing sewage treatment systems, irrespective of its method of treatment, possibility of power generation is very low or nil due to construction errors, quality of waste, sizable head loss and the like.
b) No possibility of making plants self sufficient even for part operative power.
c) Normally the gas is generated in RCC done from where leakage of gas is witnessed very often due to its shape size and thickness. It is therefore very difficult to collect the same at holder tank for further use.
d) In many cases, it is noticed that due to failure of mechanical means, operation of plant is adversely affected.
e) Another limitation of present systems is submerged location of decanter pipe for removal of treated water which demands heavy head loss in system that may reflect on subsequent units.
f) In contemporary sewage treatment systems, the cost of maintenance and expenses for installation of mechanical decanters is high. Also the cost towards the electricity for operating the same is measurable.
Objects of the present invention:
The object of the present invention is to provide an easy treatment of liquid waste commonly known as Sewage or Effluent.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an easy treatment of liquid waste commonly known as Sewage or Effluent which is cost effective/ has low operation and maintenance cost.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an easy treatment of liquid waste commonly known as Sewage or Effluent which involves generation of electricity by treated water (hydropower) or by biogas (methane).
Statement of the present invention:
In present invention, waste water after screening will enter into at central basin which is a combination of primary clarifier, primary digester, secondary digester and gas holder. This unique concept of "Combi Treat" makes the structure compact. The waste water which is allowed to enter into Combi (combined) unit. It is allowed to settle at top part while bottom part will be mixed continuously. This unique feature will help digestion of sludge at bottom portion and top portion will help separation of heavier parts and lighter parts. Heavier parts in the form of sludge contains higher concentration of 'Biological oxygen demand' (BOD hereinafter) called 'Settable BOD' whereas light portion of the sewage which is part of sewage other than sludge contains lower concentration of BOD called 'Soluble BOD' then flows to the USBR (Patent pending) Chambers where waste water is treated aerobically. The sludge which is retained in the "Combi Treat" is treated anaerobically. In this process, sludge being treated anaerobically requires no electric power. Similarly, the portion of waste water which overflows to USBR is comparatively less polluted (because concentrated portion of sludge is already separated and removed in prior basin) is treated aerobically. However as the concentration of pollution is less, it requires less
electricity for the treatment. This makes the entire unit highly economical as far as construction of electric power is concern. In the anaerobic zone of treatment, the sludge which Is retained at Combi chamber is decomposed anaerobically and in the process it produces methane gas which is good source for bioenergy.
Normally the gas is allowed to generate in RCC fixed dome digester and then the same is transferred in a unit called Gas holder to enable to utilize the same further. In present invention, existence of RCC dome and separate gas holder is totally eliminated but these units are combined together, therefore any possibility of leaking of gas through dome is totally avoided. Therefore the gas which is available and generated in the system is fully available for utilization under a gas dome. The dome weight is arranged in such a way that required pressure can easily be exerted over the gas to enable easy removal of the same from the dome for its further necessary use like generation of electric power or as a gas connection for surrounding residents for their day to day combustion.

Technology".
Figure 2: It shows schematic representation of horizontal view of "Combi
Treat Technology".
Description of the present invention:
The plant of Combi Treat Technology comprises a secondary treatment biological unit which receives primarily (physically) treated waste which is free of floating and settling inorganic grit / heavy material at the central basin Combi Treat basin (4). At Combi treat basin (4) bottom the waste is allowed to enter in such a manner that heavy particle i.e. sludge settles at bottom and the liquid portion after settlement, flows out through feed channel (6) to anoxic zone (7) and then to USBR basins(1) (2) (3) and the like. The sludge portion which settles at bottom is mixed thoroughly at digester zone (8) while the waste water entering at clarifier zone (9), supplies fresh sludge continuously to the digester zone (8). In the process of natural decomposition under anaerobic conditions, the methane gas is produced and released at the top and collected at gas collection zone (10). The waste water after settlement is flowed out through feed channel (6) and anoxic zone (7) to USBR basins (1) (2)
(3) will be controlled by valves /gates (11) for selection of appropriate USBR
basin (1) (2) (3). The gas generated in the system will be collected under a
floating dome(5) which will exert pressure on the gas and will move up and
down depending on quantity i.e. volume and pressure available below it.
NOTE:
Basin numbers (1) (2) (3) are indicative. It could be more than 3 to any number. However
minimum numbers of USBR basin is required to be 3 to have continuous outlet flow.
Advantages of the present invention:
• The present invention is proposed to help in producing non-conventional electricity while treating waste water for best outlet quality.
• When many plants are seen inoperative due to intermittent power supply, the electric power generated at this plant is proposed to be utilized in such hours of electric crisis.
• No foul smell, color or odd appearances during storage is proposed.
• Due to the fabricated dome and gas collection zone, no leakage is observed through the system.
• No complicated decanting system, thus no maintenance required.
• The proposed method is economical cost effective and easy for repair as less mechanical components are involved.
• The invention is proposed to use at rural or alike areas where electricity supply is less or not continuous.
• PLC operated hence less operating staff is required.
