Abstract: claim that a combined kit, according to claim 1, comprises of sensors in the knee cap and in shoes for detecting the improper lunge position.
Human core are composed of different muscles in the abdomen, back, pelvis, buttocks and sides. These muscles combine together to help us bend, sit, turn and stand. For these reasons people are incorporating core exercise in their fitness routine. Lunges, squats and planks are the key exercise for these core muscles. Lunges are a powerful exercise that almost strengthens your lower body including hips, glutes, hamstrings and clave muscles. Lunge technique is a boring topic, so most players ignore it. Successful athletes, however, pay attention to the boring things as well as the fun things. If your lunge is slightly wrong, then your knees will suffer. Lunging exercise improperly done can cause severe injuries in knee and ankles [1]. One of the knee injury prevention strategy is to ensure that knee is not travelling beyond the foot. As you complete a lunge, your forwards movement will cause the knee to move towards the foot. This movement must not continue beyond the point where the knee is directly over the foot. The angle under the knee should be more than 90 degrees throughout the lunge.
To address this problem, a wearable technology is employed combined kit is developed that gives warning when undesired lunging position is performed. Three different sensors are used for these purpose to sense each foot step and detect if knee is going beyond the toe. The kit includes a knee caps with in-built sensor and a pair of regular sports shoes with two detachable sensors for sensing the stride steps and monitoring and indicating via built-in LED's the crossed knee position with respect to the foot position. The power for the sensors can either be supplied by a built in battery, or from a generator that uses the actual motion of walking to recharge an energy store. The sensors are connected to a remote or mobile phone with a Bluetooth connection. The scope of invention is bounded to a kit and method giving warning when a wrong position is adapted by a human body and more particularly alerts a person to pull back his forward knee when it is beyond the toe level in
CLAIMS
1. I claim that a combined kit, according to claim 1, comprises of sensors in the knee cap and in shoes for detecting the improper lunge position.
2. I claim that a combined kit, according to claim 2, additionally comprises of a LED that will indicate the user if there is a undesired lunging position made.
In fig. 1, 1 refers to the point where the in-built knee cap with sensor would be placed. 2 refers to toe level to which the knee should not go beyond. 3 refers to the location of the sensor which senses the foot strides.
