Communication Device And Method
Abstract: A communication device is provided with: a physical layer circuit serving as a physical layer in communication with a communication partner and capable of conducting automatic negotiation for determining communication setting information indicating physical setting for the communication with the communication partner; a nonvolatile storage unit; and a control unit for controlling the physical layer circuit. In one operation mode the control unit controls the physical layer circuit such that the automatic negotiation with the communication partner is conducted and writes the communication setting information determined by the automatic negotiation in the storage unit and in another operation mode the control unit writes the communication setting information stored in the storage unit in the physical layer circuit.
