Abstract: A communication terminal (UE#2) capable of performing sidelink communication for directly communicating with another communication terminal (UE#1) receives, when present within the coverage of a base station, an assignment for performing the whole or part of a location management function (LMF) including a location deriving function, which is a function for deriving the location of a communication terminal, on behalf of a host device in a core network, and performs, on the basis of the result of the sidelink communication with the other communication terminal, a positioning function for deriving the location of the other communication terminal on behalf of the host device.
