3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes invention and the manner in which it is to be performed :

the

DYEING OF POLYSETER AND OTHER SYNTHETIC FABRIC
FIELD OF THE INVENION
The present invention in general, relates to dyeing of polyester and other synthetic fabric and in particular to an improved technique of dyeing of polyester and other synthetic fabric under controlled conditions at desired pressure and temperature conditions .
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
It is known to persons skilled in the art that polyester and other synthetic fabric is dyed in jet dyeing machines in rope form under controlled conditions at desired pressure and temperature conditions such as at approximately 3 to 4 bar pressure and at elevated temperature such as 130° to 140°c. Such conventional technique involves processing the fabric in rope form through the smooth nozzle and is driven with force of high pressure high velocity dye liquor. The fabric is then accumulated in the long tube vessel and moves slowly along with dye liquor to the other end of the long tube. At the other end the fabric is taken through small tube back to the nozzle. Thus, the cycle is repeated continuously till desired results are achieved. The dye liquor in the long tube is drawn at the other end from bottom and is recirculated by centrifugal pump after it is passed through heat exchanger and is heated. The fabric is moved at much higher velocity for achieving uniformity in dyeing. This conventional technique is being employed in the art for the past 3 to 4 decades.
i lowever, the abovementioned technique has witnessed some vital disadvantages such as .
1) Very high liquor ratio of the order of 1:5 to 1:7.
2) Longer heating and cooling time.
3) Rope marks(requiring additional passage on stenter).
4) Distortion in delicate fabric.
5) Involvement of substantial cost.

Research is on in this field for substantial period of time to nullify/substantially reduce the aforesaid drawbacks, but significant results in that perspective is yet to be achieved.
Accordingly, there was a long felt need to develop a technology for dyeing polyester and other svnthetic fabric whereby the aforesaid drawb, :ks are nullified/substantially reduced.
The present invention meets the aforesaid long felt need.
All through out the specification including the claims, the words "synthetic fabric", "polyester", "dve liquor", "nozzle", "fabric scray", "rope form", "width form", are to be interpreted in the broadest sense of the respective terms and includes all similar items in the field known by other terms, as may be clear to persons skilled in the art. Restriction/limitation, if any, referred to in the specification, is solely by way of example and understanding the present invention.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is a principal object of the present invention to provide a method for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fabric whereby the disadvantages encountered in existing technology are nullified/substantially reduced.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a method for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fabric which involves low liquor ratio of the order of 1:3.

It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a method for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fabric which involves no rope marks.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a method for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fabric which involves no distortion in fabric.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a method for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fabric which ensures substantial reduction in cost.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a method for manufacturing polyester and other synthetic fabric whereby disadvantages encountered in existing technology are nullified/substantially reduced.

In the accompanying drawing, the sole figure 1 illustrates a preferred embodiment of the apparatus in accordance with the present invention for performing the method in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRITPION OF THE INVENTION
The following describes a preferred embodiment of the present invention, which is purely for the sake of understanding the performance of the invention, and not by way of any sort of limitation.
The present invention aims in providing a method and apparatus for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fabric whereby the drawbacks in existing art, as discussed hereinbefore are nullified/substantially reduced.
In the above context it is hereby clarified, that simply by way of example and for understanding the present invention and not by way of any limitation, the method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention, have been explained with reference to polyester . It should be understood to persons skilled in the art that, the present invention is equally applicable to all other synthetic fabric and will be equally effective, in achieving the objects of the present invention.
In prior art polyester and other synthetic fabric is dyed bv processing the fabric in rope form through the smooth nozzle and is driven with force of high pressure high velocity dye liquor. The fabric is then accumulated in the long tube vessel and moves

slowly along with dve liquor to the other end of the long tube.
To nullify/substantially reduce the disadvantages encountered in such prior art the present invention includes dyeing of polyester and other synthetic fabric in open width form under controlled conditions at desired temperature and pressure such as but not limited to approximately 3 to 4 bar pressure and at elevated temperature of approximately 130° to 140°c.
The apparatus in accordance with the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figure 1. It includes the main vessel(1) provided with fiat ribbon nozzle(3), guide roll(5) for guiding the fabric to be processed and fabric entry door(2). The main vessel is operatively connected to a pump and motor(6) and a heat exchanger(7) as shown in the accompanying figure. Fabric(8) enters the vessel through the fabric entry door(2) and is passed through the wide width nozzle with the help of guide roll(5) in open width form with the power of high temperature and high pressure dve liquor. It is then accumulated in the fabric scray(4) inside the vessel(l) and is again lifted to the nozzle(3) for continuous processing. The cycle is repeated continuously till the desired results are obtained- The dye liquor is collected at the bottom of the vessel and is recirculated by a centrifugal pump and motor(6) through filter and heat exchanger(7).
The salient non-limiting advantages achieved by the present invention are as follows:
1) Low liquor ration of the order of 1:3
2) Short heating and cooling time
3) No rope marks
4) No distortion in delicate fabric

5) Substantial reduction in cost
Quite a few qualitv of fabric is processed in different machines for different process viz: a)scouring in drum washer, b) heat setting in stenter, c) weight reduction in softlen, d) dyeing in jet dyeing machine and e) finishing on stenter
In the apparatus in accordance with the present invention a), c), d) and e) can be carried out in a single and same apparatus eliminating handling and washing time and process b) i.e. heat setting is not required.
The technical advancements and economic significance as stated hereinbefore and defined hereinafter in the appended claims, were hitherto not known and conceivable to persons skilled in the art, from knowledge of existing technology in this field.
