THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE NATURE OF THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED
Field of the invention
The present invention relates to a polymer molded composite Manhole Cover for Infrastructure. More specifically, the present invention relates to a Manhole cover assembly made up of reinforced thermoplastic or thermoset material which uses modular design construction.
Background of the invention
The manhole cover provides protective shielding for opening in conduit, underground tunnel, drainage sewer and Cable trenching. The main function of manhole cover is to prevent the failing of street walker or vehicle in to pit or drainage and provide the surface Support.
Previously manhole cover are manufactured by pressure die-casting of heavy steel, or concrete which make them too heavy for installation, transportation and at the same time they are more dangerous as injury may occur to the person handling it or street walker.
The manhole cover made up of steel and concrete causes interference to radio signals and also these manholes are very difficult to handle for wireless meter reading process.
Due to recent developments in reinforced plastic, use of plastic is becoming more famous in composite manhole cover manufacturing. Use of plastic as composite material has various issues such as high production investment, production volume limitation and tendency to crack when subjected to high load condition like 12.5 Ton, 25 Ton, 40 Ton and 60 Ton requirements.
Hence, there is a need of a manhole cover that is light in weight with composite material and has a manufacturing process that can cater need of volume
production. Also there is a need of the composite manhole cover that takes care of high load requirement like 12.5 Ton, 25 Ton, 40 Ton and 60 Ton.
Objects of the invention
An object of the present invention is to use light weight composite material and Design construction that provides high volume effective manufacturing process and also resolves the failure of manhole cover against high load application like 12.5 ton, 25 Ton, 40 Ton and 60 Ton.
Another object of the present invention is to allow transfer of load from cover to its respective frame surface without affecting the integrity of components in modular construction.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide reinforcement to it in the form of glass reinforced pre-peg or Tape and pultrusion as per requirement for load bearing.
Summary of the invention
Accordingly, the present invention provides a manhole cover assembly for infrastructure requirement. The manhole cover assembly consist of upper plate, an Modular reinforcement part and plurality of reinforcement features and reinforcement types like pultrusion, Pre-peg composite mat or Tap. The upper plate is made up of a composite material having a platform with a vibration welding ribs. The modular reinforcement is configured with plurality of ribs for a different shape of the manhole cover. The reinforcement part upper includes a plurality of rectangular, triangular rib shapes forming an inner surface on half part and forming a matching receiving surface on the other half. The base part is identical to upper part and manufactured from same mould only rotated and oriented in such a way that it will facilitate receiving surface of upper part with
press fit or adhesive bonded assembly. Upon application of load on a upper plate, the plate transfers load on the assembly of reinforcement part which subsequently transfers the load to the surrounding frame thus facilitating distribution of the load on the frame body.
The manhole cover formed from Polymer composite material like Long glass polypropylene, Long glass Nylon, Polyester and Vinyl ester composite, Unsaturated Polyester.
