Abstract: The present disclosure provides compositions comprising plant extracts, which in particular w/w ratios, and weight concentrations exhibits enhanced epithelial wound closure. Also provided are methods of preparing said compositions and uses.
Claims:1. A composition comprising:
a. Dioscorea villosa root extract; and
b. at least one extract selected from the group consisting of:
i. Schizandra chinensis fruit extract;
ii. Callendulla officinalis flower extract;
iii. Ficus carica fruit extract;
iv. Nymphaea alba flower extract; and
v. combinations thereof,
wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract to at least one extract w/w ratio is in the range of 1:0.33-1:300.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-15 ppm, and at least one extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-1500 ppm.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract to Schizandra chinensis fruit extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:33.33-1:300.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-15 ppm, and Schizandra chinensis fruit extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 500-1500 ppm.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract to Callendulla officinalis flower extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:3.33-1:30.
6. The composition as claimed in claim 5, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-15 ppm, and Callendulla officinalis flower extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 50-150 ppm.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract to Ficus carica fruit extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:0.3-1:3.
8. The composition as claimed in claim 7, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-15 ppm, and Ficus carica fruit extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-15 ppm.
9. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract to Nymphaea alba flower extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:3.33-1:30.
10. The composition as claimed in claim 9, wherein Dioscorea villosa root extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 5-15 ppm, and Nymphaea alba flower extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 50-150 ppm.
11. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-10 further comprising suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients.
12. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-11
13. A method of epidermal wound closure, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-11; and
b. contacting said composition with site of epidermal wound,
wherein said method promotes epidermal wound closure.
