Abstract: Senescence associated enzymes, particularly senescence associated beta-galactosidase (SA-ß-gal) is detrimental to skin health. Such enzymes cause a host of deleterious effects such as premature aging, DNA damage, protein oxidation, production of reactive oxygen species, etc. The present disclosure provides a composition comprising xanthohumol, chrysin, and oleanolic acid, which at particular w/w ratios, ameliorates the effect of senescence associated enzymes in dermal cells.
Claims:1. A composition comprising:
(a) xanthohumol;
(b) chrysin; and
(c) oleanolic acid,
wherein xanthohumol to chrysin to oleanolic acid w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:8:1.5 - 1:12:6.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein xanthohumol to chrysin to oleanolic acid w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:10:2.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein xanthohumol to chrysin to oleanolic acid w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:10:4.
4. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, further comprising suitable additives.
5. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, wherein said composition is effective in ameliorating the deleterious effects of senescence associated enzymes on skin.
6. The composition as claimed in claim 5, wherein said senescence associated enzyme is selected from the group consisting of senescence associated beta-galactosidase, mitogen activated protein kinase, superoxide dismutase, sirtuin, and combinations thereof.
7. A method for ameliorating the effect of senescence associated enzymes on skin, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining the composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4; and
(b) contacting the said composition with skin,
wherein said method ameliorates the deleterious effects of senescence associated enzymes on skin.
8. A process for preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, said process comprising:
(a) obtaining xanthohumol;
(b) obtaining chrysin;
(c) obtaining oleanolic acid; and
(d) contacting xanthohumol, chrysin, and oleanolic acid to obtain a composition.
9. A process for preparing a composition as claimed in claim 4, said process comprising:
(a) obtaining xanthohumol;
(b) obtaining chrysin;
(c) obtaining oleanolic acid;
(d) obtaining suitable additives; and
(e) contacting xanthohumol, chrysin, oleanolic acid and suitable additives to obtain a composition.
