Compressor And Refrigeration Cycle Apparatus

Abstract: A compressor, wherein a plurality of terminals (24) are attached to one axial-direction end of a container (20) in a manner such that when seen from a planar view, the centers of each of the terminals (24) are located within an angular range (R1) which is no greater than 180° and is formed by a first straight line (L1) passing through the center (P0) of the container (20) and the center (P1) of a first terminal (24a), and a second straight line (L2) passing through the center (P0) of the container (20) and the center (P2) of a second terminal (24b). A plurality of connecting wires (26) electrically connect an electric motor and the plurality of terminals (24) inside the container (20). When seen from the planar view, the plurality of connecting wires (26) are drawn from the plurality of terminals (24) to within the angular range (R1).

Specification

[Claim 1] A compressor comprising:
a compressing mechanism to compress a refrigerant;
an electric motor to drive the compressing mechanism;
a container to house the compressing mechanism and the electric motor;
a plurality of terminals, including a first terminal and a second terminal, that are attached to one axial end of the container, a center of each terminal being positioned, in plan view, within an angle range of 180 degrees or less defined by a first straight line passing through a center of the container and a center of the first terminal and a second straight line passing through the center of the container and a center of the second terminal; and
a plurality of connecting wires that electrically connect inside the container the plurality of terminals and the electric motor, and are brought out from the plurality of terminals to within the angle range in plan view.
[Claim 2] The compressor according to claim 1,
wherein the plurality of connecting wires are placed within the angle range in plan view.
[Claim 3] The compressor according to claim 1 or 2,
wherein the plurality of connecting wires include a first connecting wire that electrically connects the first terminal and the electric motor and a second connecting wire that electrically connects the second terminal and the electric motor, and
wherein the first connecting wire and the second connecting wire are brought

out, in plan view, in a direction toward a third straight line passing through the center of the container and a midpoint between the center of the first terminal and the center of the second terminal.
[Claim 4] The compressor according to claim 1 or 2, further comprising
a plurality of power wires connected outside the container with the plurality of
terminals,
wherein the plurality of power wires include a first power wire connected with
the first terminal and a second power wire connected with the second terminal, and wherein at least one of the first power wire and the second power wire is
brought out, in plan view, in a direction away from a third straight line passing through
the center of the container and a midpoint between the center of the first terminal and
the center of the second terminal.
[Claim 5] The compressor according to claim 3 or 4,
wherein each of the first terminal and the second terminal has three pins, and wherein the three pins of the first terminal and the three pins of the second
terminal are placed symmetrically with respect to the third straight line.
[Claim 6] The compressor according to any one of claims 1 to 5,
wherein at least one connecting wire included in the plurality of connecting wires is connected with one terminal included in the plurality of terminals via a cluster.
[Claim 7] The compressor according to any one of claims 1 to 6, further comprising
a discharge pipe provided at the one axial end of the container at a position that

overlaps with a central axis of the container, in order to discharge the refrigerant out of the container,
wherein the container includes, at the one axial end of the container, a curved portion where the discharge pipe is placed and at least one flat portion where the
> plurality of terminals are placed, the at least one flat portion being inclined with respect
to a virtual perpendicular plane, which is positioned between the plurality of terminals
and the electric motor and is perpendicular to an axial direction of the container, at an
inclination angle that is further away from the virtual perpendicular plane as a distance
to the central axis of the container decreases along at least one direction.

[Claim 8] The compressor according to claim 7,
wherein the inclination angle is from 5 degrees to 30 degrees with respect to the virtual perpendicular plane.
> [Claim 9] The compressor according to claim 7 or 8,
wherein at least a part including one end in a first direction, which is orthogonal to the axial direction, of the at least one flat portion is inclined with respect to the virtual perpendicular plane at a first inclination angle that is further away from the virtual perpendicular plane as a distance to the central axis of the container decreases
) along the first direction, and
wherein at least a part including one end in a second direction, which is orthogonal to the axial direction and the first direction, of the at least one flat portion is inclined with respect to the virtual perpendicular plane at a second inclination angle that is further away from the virtual perpendicular plane as a distance to the central axis of

[Claim 10] The compressor according to claim 9,
wherein the second inclination angle is different from the first inclination angle.
[Claim 11] The compressor according to any one of claims 7 to 10,
wherein the plurality of terminals are placed together in one flat portion.
[Claim 12] The compressor according to any one of claims 7 to 10,
wherein the plurality of terminals are divided to be placed in two or more flat portions.
[Claim 13] The compressor according to any one of claims 7 to 12,
wherein the container includes, at the one axial end of the container, a different flat portion where an accessory different from the plurality of terminals is placed, the different flat portion having a shorter maximum distance from the virtual perpendicular plane than a maximum distance from the virtual perpendicular plane to the at least one flat portion.
[Claim 14] The compressor according to any one of claims 7 to 12, further comprising a rod to which a cover for covering the plurality of terminals is attached, wherein the container includes, at the one axial end of the container, a different
flat portion where the rod is placed.
[Claim 15] The compressor according to any one of claims 7 to 14,

wherein the discharge pipe is joined to the curved portion via a ring member and extends inside the container to a position closer to the compressing mechanism, compared with a distance from the ring member to the compressing mechanism.
[Claim 16] The compressor according to any one of claims 7 to 15,
wherein the one axial end of the container has a circular shape in plan view,
and
wherein an outer diameter of the discharge pipe is 0.1 times or more an outer
diameter the one axial end of the container.
[Claim 17] The compressor according to any one of claims 1 to 16,
wherein a portion extending from an end connected with each terminal of each connecting wire is brought out of an existence range of each terminal at a position within the angle range in plan view.
[Claim 18] A refrigerating cycle apparatus comprising the compressor according to any one of claims 1 to 17.
