Abstract: COMPRESSOR SYSTEM AND AIRFOIL ASSEMBLY An airfoil assembly (44) comprising at least one airfoil (50) having a leading edge (51) and a trailing edge (52), a band (60, 80) and rigidly coupled to the at least one airfoil (50) along a portion of an interface (70) between the band (60, 80) and the at least one airfoil (50) for providing at least a portion of support for the at least one airfoil (50), a relief (72) located in the band (60, 80) at the leading edge (51) or the trailing edge (52) of the at least one airfoil (50) and defining a stress relief gap (74) between the band (60, 80) and the leading edge (51) or trailing edge (52) and a closure (76) preventing airflow through the relief (72).
