FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention generally relates to technologies relating to mentorship and consultation and more particularly computer systems and methods for a mentee to receive consultation and guidance from a mentor.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Everyone person in the world, be it a student or a working professional, requires mentoring at some point in his/her life. Every person needs a mentor to guide them different phases of life. Students and working professionals often face a number of personal and professional problems, especially at the start of their career. Additionally, many young boys and girls often find themselves entangled in their personal problems as they are not able to understand the reasons of those problems. In such cases, these problems take a toll on mental well-being of those people who are suffering. That's where a mentor or a guide or an expert play an important role making a mentee understand his problems, to come to terms with his/her circumstances and find a purpose to shape his/her life.
Now-a-days most of the people try to find answers to their personal and professional problems on the internet or by physical counselling with an expert or a psychologist. But such solutions are not good enough to provide a moral support to the mentees. The mentors are often not reachable by the mentees due to pre-scheduled appointments, charges per visit and/or a mentee's hesitation to share his problems in-person. There is no platform that can connect student, working professionals & entrepreneurs to mentors of their relevant fields and choice who can stay in touch with the mentees through calls, chats or video calls etc. There are no solutions available that focus on the life coaching from student to work to entrepreneur life cycle.
Therefore, there remains a need in the art for computer systems and methods for a mentee to receive consultation and guidance from a mentor,
that does not suffer from above mentioned deficiencies or atleast provides a viable and effective alternative.

The steps 206-212 have been illustrated in figure 3B. Additionally, at step 214, the mentee may share the subject matter of the problem with the mentor including all the details. For example: the mentee is a student and is not sure about selecting science or commerce in high school. In another example, the mentee is a graduate and is confused between accepting a job offer at hand or pursue further studies and then look for a job. In one embodiment, the subject matter may be shared in a series of question-answers between the mentor and the mentee to enable the mentor to understand the problem. Referring to above mentioned example, the mentor may ask questions about the interests and academic strengths of the mentee, or about the financial situation of the mentee to pursue the interest.
After that, at step 216, providing the guidance and/or the consultation from the mentor to the mentee after understanding the problem. The mentor and mentee may by setting up personal and professional goals for the mentee based on the subject matter of the problem, in order to help the mentee overcome the problem. The goals may be short-term goals, mid¬term goals or long-term goals to be achieved by the mentee. The same has been illustrated in figure 3C. In addition, at step 218, the processor (1024) may provide a dashboard to keep track of the progress of the goals till the goals are achieved. This ensures that mentor-mentee are always aware of the growth of the mentee and the problem is solved to the satisfaction of the mentee. Furthermore, motivational videos, articles and other information relevant to the mentee may be provided to help the mentee achieve desired results. In one embodiment, the processor (1024) may offer/provide incentives such as gift vouchers etc. if the mentee and/or the mentor achieved the personal and professional goals before a predetermined time.
Then, at step 220, once the problem is solved and the problem is solved to the satisfaction of the mentee, the subject matter of the problem of the mentee along with the guidance and/or consultation (and the procedure) provided, in the data repository (112') for future reference. In one embodiment, the processor (1024) may generate and provide digital certificates to the mentee and/or the mentor based on the respective performance.
After that at step 222, the processor (1024) develops a performance metrics based on the results achieved for the one or more problems consulted by the mentee using the consultation and guidance provided to the mentee. The performance metrics is indicative of how well the procedure was followed and how the mentor was able help the mentee on the given problem. The performance metrics is developed for each mentor-mentee session and is also saved in the data repository (112'). Further, the processor (1024) may learn and develop automated consultation procedures using the Artificial intelligence and machine learning. Then, at step, 224, the processor (1024) is configured to provide an automated consultation and/or guidance to another mentee of the one or more mentees, in case, the mentee has a problem having a same subject matter as previously consulted, based on the stored consultation and guidance data as well as the performance metrics. This is advantageous as steps 222 and 224 enable the processor (1024) to automate the method of providing the consultation and guidance.
However, it will be appreciated by a skilled artisan, that there may be a computer system (102) that enables an automated response chat module for enabling the interactions between the mentee and the computer system (102) using third party databases (402), without departing from the scope of the present invention. Such system is disclosed in figure 4.
Figure 4 illustrates another exemplary environment 400 of computing devices to which the various embodiments described herein may be
implemented, in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention. The environment 400 comprises components such as the computer system (102), the data repository (112'), one or more mentor devices (106') and the one or more mentee devices (108') connected via the network, same as in the environment (100). Additionally, the environment (400) comprises the third-party databases (402). The third-party databases (402) are envisaged to store various subject matters of the problem along with the respective solutions related to several personal and professional problems such as, but not limited to, work-related, career, psychological, relationships, marriage and education-related problems. The third-party databases (402) may be in form of multiple questions related to the problems along with the respective answers asked and answered by the users around the world providing the solution. The processor (1024) may also develop a second plurality of performance metrics indicative of the success rate of each question-answers procedure and store the same in the data repository (112') and/or the third-party databases (402).
Figure 5 illustrates a method (500) for a mentee to receive consultation and guidance from a mentor, to be implemented using the environment (400), in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention. Similar to the method (200), the method (500) begins at step 502, by registering the one or more mentor devices (106') associated with the one or more mentors and the one or more mentee devices (108') associated with the one or more mentees, on the computer system (102). Registration process may require each of the one or more mentees to provide information such as, but not limited to, a Name, a DOB, contact details and professional details etc. of the mentee as well as selecting the profile or category from may be, but not limited to, student, working professional, leadership, entrepreneur by each of the one or more mentees. Similarly, each of the one or more mentors may be required to provide information such as, but not limited to, a Name, a DOB, contact details and professional details such as profession, experience, area of expertise, certifications etc.
Then at step 504, the respective one or more personal profiles of the one or more mentors and the one or more mentees are generated based on the respective information received in the previous step. The respective one or more profiles may be stored in the data repository (112). In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, each of the one or more mentees may also be required to pay the application or a registration fee. The one or more mentees and the one or more mentors may also update the respective personal profile as and when desired, after successful registration. The same has been illustrated in figure 6A.
After that, at step 506, the processor (1024) receives a request from a mentee device (108) of the one or more mentee devices (108'), for the receiving consultation and/or guidance on a problem. The problem may be the personal problem or the professional problem. In one embodiment, the processor (1024) also receives the subject matter of the problem along with the request, the subject matter of the problem is selected from, but not limited to, work-related, career, psychological, relationships, marriage and education related. Furthermore, at step 508, the processor (1024) is configured to generate an automated response chat module by connecting the mentee device (108)s and a plurality of third party databases (402), for enabling the mentee to share a subject matter of the problem for receiving the consultation and guidance. The computer system (102) is envisaged to implement the artificial intelligence and machine learning for enabling automated interactions using the automated response chat module. The same has been illustrated in figure 6B.
Moreover, at step 510, a first plurality of questions may be sent to the mentee device (108) from the processor (1024) and then, a first plurality of respective answers from the mentee device (108) may be received in the automated response chat module, for understanding the subject matter of the problem. For example: The first plurality of questions may be, but not limited to, "what is the problem/confusion you are facing?", "how long you
have been going through the problem?", "have you tried to solve the problem by yourself?", "do you need a long term or a short term solution?" and any other questions that any living person or a mentor may ask his/her mentee. Then, the mentee may answer each of the first plurality of questions as per his/her convenience in the automated response chat module. This helps the processor (1024) to understand the problem and search for a course of action. The same has been illustrated in figure 6C.
After that, at step 512, the processor (1024) compares the subject matter of the problem and the respective solutions pre-stored on the plurality of third party databases (402) and selecting a relevant course of guidance to be followed, based on the comparison. Further, at step 514, the guidance and/or the consultation is provided to the mentee based on the selected course of guidance. For example: a mentee asks the questions whether he should pursue MBA from India or abroad? If yes, then which country and university should he should looking for? So, the processor (1024) may look for answers to similar questions in the third party databases (402) and provide answers, say, yes you can pursue MBA from abroad. The processor (1024) may also provide data of most sought after universities across the world for MBA.
Then, at step 516, a second plurality of questions from the mentee device (108) may be received, via the automated response chat module, related to the queries of the mentee regarding the guidance provided. And at step 518, the processor (1024) may send a second plurality of respective answers to the mentee device (108), thereby resolving the queries of the mentee, till the problem is solved to the satisfaction of the mentee. The same has been illustrated in figure 6D. Referring back to the above mentioned example, the mentee may then ask, what is success rate of the above mentioned course of guidance, were the users satisfied with the response/ data provided in the previous step and were the students who are pursing or had pursued the MBA from the suggested universities happy and
successful with their career growth? The processor (1024) may then answer the queries by pull out the performance metrics developed for that particular question-answer procedure to show success rate. Further, the processor (1024) may look for data of students who are pursuing and/or MBA alumni from the suggested university and provide the same to mentee. The data may include, but not limited to, response provided by those students and alumni on the third party databases (402) and/or their professional social network profiles or mentee to go through.
In this manner, the processor (1024) ensures that the second plurality of respective answers solves the queries of the mentee to the satisfaction of the mentee. Further, at step 520, the subject matter of the problem of the mentee along with the guidance and/or consultation provided, in a data repository (112') for future reference.
In case the problem of the mentee is not solved to satisfaction of mentee, the processor (1024) may follow the steps 208-224 of the method (200) by comparing, selecting and allocating the mentor for the mentee to solve the problem of the mentee to his/her satisfaction.
