Abstract: Aircraft building involves many challenges right from detail part fabrication to final assembly and testing due to the complexity involved in the design requirements. Presently majority of the system pipe lines for combat aircraft are fabricated through manual pipe bending and welding process resulting in poor quality. These manufacturing trends result in distortion of pipe assemblies and difficult to achieve interchangeability of pipe assemblies on aircrafts. In this scenario Checking media concept for of LCA hydraulic pipe lines is invented to simplify the present production process, improve the production rate and build quality.
DESCRIPTION TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention describes the concept of checking media of fabricated hydraulic lines on LCA aircraft.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Aircraft building involves many challenges right from detail part fabrication to final assembly and testing due to the complexity involved in the design requirements. Presently majority of the system pipe lines for combat aircraft are fabricated through manual pipe bending and welding process resulting in poor quality. These manufacturing trends result in distortion of pipe assemblies and difficult to achieve interchangeability of pipe assemblies on aircrafts. In this scenario checking media concept for interchangeability of LCA pipe assemblies is invented to simplify the present production process, improve the production rate and build quality. This invention ensures interchangeability of pipe assemblies from aircraft to aircraft and improves the built quality of the aircraft.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Checking media model designed as a prototype which consists of 1:1 scale of a fuselage or a fuselage section. These are conventionally static mock-ups constructed in wood or aluminium and thus require the specification of specific fuselage geometry, in particular with regard to cross-sectional shapes or fuselage frame spacings. Checking media should consists replica of all terminating points of pipe assemblies and provide dummy terminating points where pipe lines are mating with another connected pipeline. Positional tolerance of the terminating points (LRUs/Frames/Brackets) on mockup should co¬ordinate with their corresponding locating jigs used on aircraft. Provide replica of aerodrome fittings (like T-junction, Cross junction) and floating LRUs (like NRV, Pressure switch, pressure transducer and etc) which are connected between the pipelines.
CHECKING MEDIA MODEL CONCEPT FOR LCA FABRICATED HYDRAULIC PIPE ASSEMBLIES:
1. Design requirements for fabrication of Checking media:
a. Checking media is 1:1 scale of aircraft for the specified zone.
b. Specify the zone requirement.
c. Provide the details of specific zone.
d. Checking media should consist replica of all terminating points of pipe assemblies.
e. Provide dummy terminating points where pipe lines are mating with another connected
pipeline.
f. Positional tolerance of the terminating points (LRUs/Frames/Brackets) on mockup should
co-ordinate with their corresponding locating jigs used on aircraft.
g. Provide replica of AP fittings (like T-junction, Cross junction) and floating LRUs (like NRV,
Pressure switch, pressure transducer and etc) which are connected between the
pipelines.
h. Checking media can be made with wood or aluminium.
