Title of the invention: - Consumer Feedback System for improving sales of available inventory of the Enterprise.
Name of Applicant - Kamat Hotels India, Ltd,
Address of Applicant - KHIL House, 70/C Nehru Road,
Vile Parle East, Mumbai- 400 099 Maharashtra, India.
Field of the Invention: - The present invention relates more particularly to consumer feedback system for improving inventory sales of any enterprise.
Back ground of Invention with regard to the Drawbacks associated with the known Art:-
This invention relates to those products/services that have a time element affecting its sale value and therefore regarded as perishable good. This applies to storage unit and car rentals as well as airline seats and hotel rooms and any other item whose price, quantity & quality gets affected with passage of time. Further, when we offer services we are working with offers that are "perishable" in nature too. If there is an expiration of the resource, for example billable hours per day, then just like a food item that will lose value by going bad on a set date, our services cannot be monetized once the time has passed.
So the dilemma is this, if the product or service will its value at with passage of time and/or a fixed deadline, then one must maximize the revenue against a mostly fixed cost in order to increase total margin. That is, one tend to experience a very low variable cost with selling their services or, as is the case with food items, one must look at the raised cost of a production run as being "sunk cost". By the deadline, the investment or the cost will be incurred regardless of the revenue generated.
So if a person is in a services business or produce a product which has a "shelf life", then one need to consider going with a perishable inventory pricing model. When one finds themselves in this type of business, the following things should be taken in to account
1. There are different models that one can apply to understand the market segments and customer's "willingness to pay". How you approach these may impact the customer loyalty and so it has to be carefully selected.
2. If one decide to lower the price as time passes closer to the expiration date in order to make sure to move inventory, then the customers will figure out this behavior and act accordingly.
3. The key to understanding your revenue curves is lots of good data in order to drive statistically valid models. And this lends itself to consumer feedback system model.
4. It is a need to shift one's mindset from viewing what you traditionally see as variable costs as actually being sunk or fixed. Doing so, may help one focus on maximizing the overall revenue in order to drive profitability.
One of the prior art means described in US Patent No. 20020044687 is a consumer feedback system which comprises a paper form having a plurality of regions, at least one of which is for entry of consumer feedback responses, a scanner for converting data on paper into graphical format, and an electronic data reader for converting graphical format into electronic data, wherein data from at least one region on the paper form is converted into a format suitable for electronic analysis. In order to provide an incentive to consumers to provide their feedback, data from at least one other region is retained in said graphical format for sending as an electronic message to an address specified by a consumer. Thus the consumer is able to send an electronic postcard.
Another prior art means is described in US Patent No. 20080097769 in which methods and systems of consumer feedback include collecting consumer feedback
while the consumer is physically located in a retail environment, transmitting the consumer feedback through a wireless communication facility to a data processing facility, wherein the data processing facility automatically compares the consumer feedback to at least one threshold value in accordance with business rules to determine an alert action, and communicating a message to an employee of an enterprise associated with the retail environment. Consumer feedback is also collected by a payment transaction facility including a touch screen display adapted to present transaction information and to receive a signature. A consumer query is presented on the touch screen display along with selectable answers to collect consumer feedback.
In another prior art means for consumer feedback system is described in US Patent No. 7899875. This invention describes digital data processing methods and systems for cultivating and providing guest. The invention provides, in some aspects, methods and systems for cultivating and providing guest feedback on rental accommodations that comprises plurality of modules that executes on a digital data processor, including the first module that obtains email addresses, second that validates those e-mail addresses, third that generates and delivers invitations to authorized email addresses, fourth that authenticates users that respond to those invitations, fifth that validates content entered by users in response to the invitations, sixth that stores the validated content and seventh that accepts input from managers in regard to that content. Method and systems according to the invention cultivate user feedbacks and reviews to substantiate accurate vacation home rental and alternative lodging (refers to small lodging services, such as bed and breakfasts, cabins, etc.) accommodations through a closed cultivation system.
The disadvantages of the prior art are as follows:
1. It is a time consuming and long process not taking in to account the perishable nature of the product.
2. It is difficult to be responsive for any organization or enterprise to the feedback of the consumers.
3. No immediate action on consumer feedback resulting in dissatisfaction.
So, there is a need for a cost effective system for the consumer feedback which is time efficient/ instant pointed so that it will be convenient for the consumers to give their valuable feedback and will make easy for the enterprises to analyze the feedback of the consumers and improve the sales of available inventory of the enterprise.
The advantages of the present embodiment are as follows:
1. To improve the sales of available inventory of the enterprises.
2. Spot unsatisfactory areas of the products and services.
3. Evaluate marketing techniques and potential.
4. Complete satisfaction of consumers as their feedbacks is immediately responded.
The present embodiment is a consumer feedback system for improving sales of available inventory that is perishable in nature. The present embodiment is a short, easy, convenient and time efficient system.
Object of the Invention: The main object of the present embodiment is to overcome all the associated drawbacks and to give a system for consumer feedback.
Another object of the present embodiment is to give a consumer feedback system for improving the sales of available inventory having shelf life of the enterprise.
Another object of the present embodiment is to give a time efficient consumer feedback system useful specifically for spotting the customer's willing to buy a product or services at a particular price by introducing a perishable inventory pricing model.
Yet another object of the present embodiment is to decide to make sure to move inventory sale faster as the time passes closer to the expiration date by adjusting the price. Based on feedback
Still another object of the present embodiment is to focus on maximizing the overall revenue in order to drive profitability by implementing an effective consumer feedback system

A Brief description of the accompanying drawings:-
A complete understanding of the present invention may be drawn by reference to the following detailed description which is taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein Fig. 1 is an illustration of the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Fig 1 illustrates a Consumer Feedback System.
Detailed description of the Invention with the reference to Drawing:
The foregoing objects of the invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with prior art techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention described in the present embodiment.
Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein; however, it is to be understood that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted in limited, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching, one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or matter.
The present embodiment is a system for consumer feedback for improving sales of available inventory of any enterprise.
The present embodiment relates to those products/services that have a time element affecting its sale value and therefore regarded as perishable good. This applies to storage unit and car rentals as well as airline seats and hotel rooms, consultancy services, food items (fish, crab, prawns etc) etc
The system involves soliciting feedback from the enquirer based upon the demand of the product. Hence person who puts query e.g. visits the website puts a query for the product. For e.g. seat, room, product, etc. After filling all the details of his product, he is shown & informed of the present price. If he is satisfied with the price of the product, he purchases the product. If the consumer is not satisfied with the price, he declines the offer by closing the window.
The present system brings itself to action once the consumer declines the offer by closing the window. To ensure sale of inventory hence become crucial activities to be done if required by gauging through feedback price the customer is willing to pay based on his needs of the product / service.
Hence using any method i.e. manual, verbal; electronics feedback of price is solicited and taken and by using set calculation and metrics the lowest price at which the product/services can be sold at is compared with the feedback rate provided by the customer. If it is higher than the sale is consummated.
The price of which the minimum selling price is set is based upon a trademark /proprietary formula which is dynamic in nature as it takes into memory factor such as perishability of product and time / mins. / hours left, anticipated demand, availability left of product, invention lead time for products, lead time of query etc.
Hence the price changes moment to moment.
Once the feedback rate is received, it is compared with the determined price at which one is willing to offer or sell the services or product and incase the same is equal to or higher to the customer feedback rate then& compared it alone the feedback rate a confirmation is given to the customer to final the order. Naturally the confirmation is order specific & time bound. The offer is valid for a specific period of time only and the order definitely cannot be changed or attend at this point as entire calculation has been done based on details already provided.
The system issues the feedback rate provided to check if one is willing to sell at that rate. If one is willing to sell at the feedback rate provided by the customer than the sale is made / processed by the system / device.
Inventory having a cost of being kept, cost of time & potentials of even materials cost if it goes unsold. Hence selling of inventory is already fighting against time as invention is buying.
The working of the present feedback system is detailed in the following paragraph
Offer is sent automatically by the system once to the consumer by email or sms (short message service) on his cell phone by which he can put maximum price he is willing to pay. Once input offer comes directly to the computer which checks if the said offer is higher than the days to be spent in that hotel.
In case the quote is higher, the system computes immediately and sends offer of acceptance to the consumer. Guest gets a token for the payment option and once the payment is done, they get a Confirmation Number.
The embodiments of the invention as described above and the methods disclosed herein will suggest further modification and alterations to those skilled in the art. Such further modifications and alterations may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention; which is defined by the scope of the following claims.
