Abstract: ABSTRACT CONTACT ELEMENT FOR A BATTERY Contact element for a battery (200) is described. The battery (200) includes a housing (202) having an opening (220), a first electrode disk (206) electrically coupled to the jelly roll (204), a bottom connector (208) having a 5 projection (224) and electrically coupled to the jelly roll (204), and a riveted top connector (210) disposed in the opening (220). The riveted top connector (210) includes a top wall (230) and a first cavity (228) to receive the projection (224) to electrically couple the riveted top connector (210) with the first electrode disk (206). The riveted top connector (210) further 10 includes a second cavity (236), on a second side (238) of the top wall (230), extending away from the first electrode disk (206). The second cavity (236) defines an interface (240) for connecting the riveted top connector (210) and the projection (224), and form the contact element of the battery (200).
