Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to the field of protective packaging materials. In particular, the present disclosure pertains to corner padding. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to formation of corner padding in a multifold fashion. In an aspect, the present disclosure provides a multifold corner padding 1200 that can include a plurality of panels (say 9 panels) configured to be sequentially folded initially from a flat cross-like blank configuration 100 to a corner configuration, which utilizes equal division of panels (i.e. 3) of the plurality of panels along each of its three mutually-perpendicular sides.
Claims:
1. A multifold corner padding, comprising:
a plurality of panels configured to be sequentially folded initially from a flat cross-like blank configuration to a corner configuration, which utilizes equal division of panels of the plurality of panels along each of its three mutually-perpendicular sides.
2. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of panels are 9 panels generally in the flat cross-like blank configuration with four arms that gets folded so as to have 3 panels along every side of the corner configuration.
3. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 2, wherein the four arms comprising:
a first arm with three panels (P4, P7, and P8) along the (+) y axis;
a second arm with one panel (P5) along the (-) y axis;
a third arm with one panel (P9) along the (+) x axis; and
a fourth arm with three panels (P1, P2, and P3) along the (-) x axis, wherein the four arms are connected to a central panel (P6).
4. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 3, wherein the first arm has the P7 between the P8 and P6 while the P4 is in the second quadrant of the coordinate axis, and the fourth arm has the P3 between the P2 and P6 while the P1 is also in the second quadrant.

The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 4, wherein a first bend (B1) configures the P9 to bend 180 degree towards the (-) z axis so as to rest on the P6, wherein the P9 includes two locking feature, L1 and L2, which later on lock with lock L3 of the P1 and lock L4 of the P2 respectively.
6. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 5, wherein a second bend (B2) configured to bend the P4, P7, and P8 of the first arm together by 90 degree towards the P9, and third bend (B3) configured to bend the P4 by 90 degree towards the P7 in the (+) x axis.

The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 6, wherein a fourth bend (B4) configured to bend the P1, P2, and P3 of the fourth arm together by 90 degree towards the P9, and fifth bend (B5) configured to bend the P1 by 90 degree towards the P2 in the (-) z axis, wherein the B5 moves locking patterns, L3 and L4, of the P1 in optimum position to lock with the L1 and L2, respectively, of the P9.
8. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 8, wherein sixth bend B6 configured to bend the P2 and P1 by 90 degree towards the P9, and seventh bend (B7) configured to further bend the P2 and P1 together by 90 degree in the same sense so as to lock the P2 and P1 with the P9.
9. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 10, wherein eight bend (B8) configured to bend the F8 by 90 degree towards the P1 and P9, wherein the F8 includes a lock L5, and ninth bend (B9) configured to bend the F8 further by 90 degree in the same sense.
10. The multifold corner padding as claimed in claim 10, wherein tenth bend (B10) configured to bend the P5 by 90 degree towards the P9 in the (-) z axis, wherein the P5 includes a lock L6 that locks with the L5 of the F8 on final movement of the P5 by 90 degree in the same sense.

But with this comes an issue of protection, particularly of precious goods that have much more than material value.
[0004] One possible way of goods protection, especially during transit, is use of protective coverings/covers/tapings and the like in spite of large improvements in load carrying capacities of protective cases like cartons, boxes etc. So, there have been efforts in the past to secure corner of the protective case since they are critical to protection of material(s) enclosed therein.
[0005] Further, padding means have been suffering with limitations related to sufficient padding, storing and implementation challenges among others like complexity of implementation for need of skilled manpower to finally manufacture and/or supply them.
