Specification

This invention relates to n cover frame for a motor cycle.
Cover frames are provided on either side of a motor cycle for the purpose of covering the exposed areas of the motor cycle, such as, the air cleaner, battery, tool kit and other components. These cover frames are also intended for preventing such components from being stolen when the vehicle is parked.
These cover frames also add aesthetic appeal to the motor cycle and are painted with graphics or decals to match the body colour of the motor cycle. The cost and productivity are adversely affected by reason of the graphics adhesively fixed to the surface of the cover frame. The graphics tend to lose adhesion over a preriod of time and come off.
The cover frame for a motor cycle, according to this invention, comprises a plurality of mating segments, the surface of each segment having a predetermined configuration of peaks and valleys, said surface being painted and, optionally, provided with graphics painted thereon, the said painted segments being attachable to each other and to the sides of the motorcycle
This invention will now be described with reference to the
accompanying drawings which illustrate, by way of example, and not
by way of limitation one of possible embodiments of the cover frame
proposed herein,
Fig. I .illustrating a motor cycle showing the location of the cover
frame F
Fig.2 illustrating the embodiment with three segments A B and C.

As stated above, this invention proposes to overcome the foregoing drawbacks by providing a segmented cover frame, whorein each segment A B and C is of a predetermined configuration matching the styling of the motor cycle with which the covet frame is to be used.
The segments will consists of surfaces with peaks P and valleys V. Each segment will be painted with the desired colour before installation, and where graphics are to be used, these can be provided by painting them on at the desired places, without adhesively fixing them so that the painting exercise will be rendered simpler than that consisting of painting a single cover frame with multi colours and adhesively fixing graphics. At the same time the requisite aesthetic appeal, is easier to achieve than by the conventional route. Th« segments thus treated are mounted in place on the motor cycle to serve as cover frames on either side.
It will be observed that the segments are not necessarily confined to any specific number but can be any required number two or more. Being of a predetermined configuration, the segments can be so chosen as to be useable with any specific motor cycle to provide the desired visual effect.
tt will be appreciated that various embodiments of this invention are possible without departing from the scope and ambit thereof.

We Claim:
1. A cover frame for a motor cycle comprising a plurality of mating segments, the surface of each segment having a predetermined configuration of peaks and valleys, said surface being painted and, optionally, provided with graphics painted thereon, the said painted segments being attachable to each other and to the sides of the motorcycle.
2. A cover frame for a motor cycle substantially as herein described with reference to and as illustrated in the
